So Im contemplating getting a tattoo.. I think I really want one but I keep trying to think it through.. I think I might think about it too much... but when you got yours did you think of like ever having to hide it in the future for job puprposes? what made you chose the location you got it and what you got? I mean it seems like soooo many questions..... am I the type of person a tat would look good on?
Tattoos are a big commitment, so thinking about it is always a good idea. Keep in mind that regret is the biggest risk of getting a tattoo, so consider if you'll be appy with the design and placement for life even in your tastes change. A potleaf on your neck might be the greatest idea, but a attractive design somewhere easily hidden is much likely to make you happy in the long run. Noone cann tell you to get one or not, but consider if the design is something that is deeply meaningful or just a fad. Also, think about how easily it can be hidden under normal clothing and decide if you are comfortable with its visibility. Peace
I got mine on my right forearm. I knew I'd have to cover it eventually for certain jobs as right now I'm still doing menial part-time shit until I got o college (like right now, I work at Blockbuster and I have to put gauze over it when I'm on shift), but the placement was important to me. I got my tattoo (a lotus and a butterfly) for me, and the point was to have something there that I will look at accidentally when I'm stressed/worried/freaking out and it will remind me of a quote I found the week I got it done- "Everything you need is within you" So for me it was very important to have it there, so it's worth any trouble it's given me (which has been very minimal, actually!) Basically, it comes down entirely to you. If the tattoo is meaningful enough to you, then chances are you'll be willing to put up with any negative reactions you get. But think long and hard before you get it! Some careers (teaching, law, nursing- although I'm going into nursing and I have a tattoo and lip piercing. Some hospitals allow staff to have body mods- etc) may be hindered by tattoos. Just think about it first. And don't worry if you'll "look good with a tattoo," everyone looks good with a tattoo in my opinion! Just worry about *you're* opinion
tattoos look good on EVERYONE. my tattoo is on my left forearm, fortunatly i currently have a job at a books and music store that welcomes tattoos and piercings. If the tattoo is meaningful to you then fuck the rest of the world. Theres always ways to cover it up and i've seen so many different types of makeup especially made for the covering of tattoos. If the tattoo is a part of you then go for it! out of curiosity, what were you thinking of getting?
I have 4 tattoos, on of which is on my left hands index finger, if it's ever a problem I just put a ring on and it covers it nicely. Thankfully I will eventually be selfemployeed so getting tattooes is ok because my 'boss' likes them But it is VERY important to think about it long and hard before you get it done, because if I had thought about the one on my hand more I would have known that it was a bad idea. It turned out terribly!
If you are concerend maybe start with something that you can easily hide. It is a HUGE commitment. I have 1 full sleeve, and 1 quarter as well as large calf peices and other large pieces all over my body .. my first tattoo was on my ankle and lower back, both easily hidden if they needed to be...But taking that step into getting sleeved was something I pondered for a long time before I took the leap. And when I took the leap, I found the best artist in the country to ink my skin with his signature art , and I get complimented on it everywhere I go from old people and young alike I DONT Regret it for a second, and cant wait to start my other sleeve.
