weee-eell...I'm Amber. I'm a full time psychology/art student, 18...I'm just now breaking out of an overprotected upper-middle class uber-conservative shell that was my upbringing. I've always stuck out like a sore thumb in my family(even my group of friends sometimes) for my attitude towards certain things like my personal beliefs, politics, religion, the environment...its nice to find such a huge group of people here who are, if not like me, at least like THEMSELVES. if that makes sense. I love everything! I love everybody...for the most part. I'm in the first leg of a journey that I hope lasts for the rest of my life. It's an awakening, really. I'm getting more in touch with myself, the world around me, and the people I come into contact with. That's me in a nutshell.
just found great art therapy program you might like in the swiss alps. It consists of two one month stays in consecutive summers. In between it is a must to work in the field in their home towns or other chosen community. Let me know what you think. If I can get everything together I might go this June. I am from a town near Boone NC where Appalachian state university offers art therapy programs. Soooo what are you pursuiting, are you in a school?
Oh wow..that sounds amazing! It also sounds unbelievably expensive. I'm a poor college student. And yeah I'm in school, I'm a freshman doubling up in Psychology and Art.
Welcome Amber ! You'll find that there are no "sore thumbs " here ! maybe sore typing fingers ?! lol. I hope you enjoy the forums and that your new found journey is a good one ! Peace and Love !
Hey Amber, know just what you are going through. It is a good feeling to know that being different from everyone else can be a good thing!
