Prob. Martin Luther King Jr. The civil rights movement changed the lives of millions of people, and still continues to do so.

all of them, and many many more.
each of them, believe it or not, played a roll, in among other things, preserving and protecting what few real freedoms we still have. even helping to shape and create some of them. none of them were perfect. no one is. but they all, in one way or another, struggled and sacraficed themselves for us. not all of them even realizing or intending to perhapse, but each in their own way, ultimately did.

some tough choices there, but im sayin janis too.... they all had great political and social messages, they were visionaries and pioneers in their fields... but janis is the only one I would sleep with. And isnt that what the 60s were all about? lol

every nameless person who traded their reputation and the esteem of those familiar to them, to oppose inequities, who didn't make the six o'clock news doing so, but who, none the less, none of these movements would have gotten anywhere without hundreds of doing, i'd have to say, each and every one of THESE was my favorite person from the 60s, and any and every other time, place, decade. all of the names mentioned, each in some way represented them, but it was these 'faceless' defacto innocent frontline grunts, high school and college students mostly, and other mostly young people too poor to go to college, who really deserve the real credit for everything that was accomplished.

musicians and politicians deserve to be remembered too. and all of those mentioned among them. but it was the 'faceless' 'hippes' who were my "favorite people of the 60s".
