when the american dream becomes a nightmare theres just 1 thing to do live in bliss but lets backtrack here a bit.. it all started few months before the colorado national when i started talking to this amazing lil weirdo named chevy (chevelle really..or dylanchick0113 on here) and we just knew we'd be lifelong freinds and adopted eachother sorta..lol at the time she was livin in tulsa with her asshole husband and his meth dealin family and her 2 beautiful girls her husbands family were also born again christian alcaholic drug dealers which odviosly isnt exactly a great match for a free spirited hippie pagan firewalker who only ended up in tulsa married to an asshole cause she found a key chain that said tulsa on it..so she took it as an omen and moved there.. well anyways..before the gathering she had offered to drive from tulsa..to philly..to colorado... back to philly then back to tulsa just to get me (go ahead...map that trip...yea nearly 3/4 of the way across the country just to get me..so with such a sweet offer how could i not get her and her daughters a gift? so i bought them each a beautiful djimbe (2 of wich are now for sale to help pay for the bus) (oops i didn't mention the bus yet did i? its comming) ok anyways. finaly its near the gatherin time we're all packed and ready to go, she calls to say shes on her way..after hed drank away all her travel funds and sabataoged her vw bus and forbid her to take her kids (even the 1 that wasnt even his) so we get to the gathering somehow..rainbow majic... and totaly by coincidence since we came seperately..chevy sets her tent up literaly 10 feet from mine and we spent the whole gatherin together and believe me..that girls no drainbow...she worked her ass off but had a beautiful blissful time..till she went to leave and her husband who was suposed to pick her up just abandoned her there...a month after the very last people left there and she was there practicaly alone..except for 1 really cool guy who was actualy the last person i hung out with b4 i left the site..and he took her in and theyve been workin together towards raisin some funds to get her kids back and towards getting a bus and tipi and travelin full time well here we are today..after dreammin and plannin for months..chevy just started workin a second job to make payments on this beauty you may recognize so...this soon will be our new home (may add 2 more rooms upstairs) and damn are we excited ..oh hippiestead folks..just letton u kno we will be droppin by sooner or later..lol that goes for ya feel free farm folks too ah wellback to the drums..payin for this bus is a real stress on chevy. and with my $ situation i'm no help at all..lol but, we do have these 2 beautiful djimbe's i bought for her and her kids that shes willing to part with if it helps us get the bus faster i lost my camera in colorado so cant take any pics (she may have some though) but i can tell ya theyre beautiful drums with very good sound if anyones lookin for a new drum, just pm me for info back to the bus..anyone have any suggestions for a name for her? or even any of yas who've lived in a bus on the road for years, if u wanna share stories or advice for some folks who've only dreammed bout it lovin yas
Too Cool Fam! Congrats on the bus!! We'll be waiting to hear when y'all will be dropping in. Names, most busses 'tell' you their names & the bus's name isn't nessessarily the same as it's 'handle'. One bro called his bus all these different female names (Sally, Betsy, the standards) then he looked up and noticed that the bus's name was on it-Wayne Wayne is better known by his handle, which was the Cartoon Bus...
wellllll thats a good question...we would totaly love to... and blinkins possibly willin to let us come pick her up before we finnish payin for her ..maybe..but we'd still need to get her from ..i think its near the ny/toronto bourder..to pa..to ocala..and i dont think we can possibly make enough payments and arrange to get her here in time..but we're still hoping either way tho im still plannin on goin if i can find a way or make a way....i have at least 6 from the area wantin to go
Wow man, I wish you all luck. Ya'll sound like such beautiful people. I hope you get everything straightened out. I offer my blessings and I'm sending lots of love your way.
Your bus is 'healing' to these sore eyes thats fer sure I want a pic of ya with yer beautiful baby 'I luvz it' 'winks'
I'll keep my ears open for anyone looking for a drum. That's a beautiful bus, I hope all goes well with raising the funds for it. Best wishes!
I love buses! everyone should own at least one. blessing to you and your trip however long you can make it last. we always felt if we were on vacation. life is good
many smiles eagle, keep her truckin, or shall we say chapter 2 life after THC ha ha... I still got my bus in the back yard actually getting plates on her in about 6 days. Good thing to do is aquire parts before they break. I'm packin an extra starter, alternator, hoses, and other regular road stoppers on her before I go journy-ing... Hope you have good luck with her. Keep us updated... Mike...
what a great story! I'll have to join you guys on your bus one of these days. I would be very careful with a paint job like that tho. You're a target to the cops. I just have bumper stickers that have "visualize whirled peas" and "vegetarians taste better" and I sware they pull me over more often than people who don't have those bumper stickers. Good luck!
what you need is a rear guidance crystal that sends out an invis-a-shield so that the man can't see you <wink> (man, I miss the wink smiley!) we pulled ourselves over once...accidently ran a red light and pulled over before the cop even had a chance to hit the siren...it freaked the cop out big time!
hey now, we are livin the rainbow dream on our bus "Sugaree" One look at your bus and one name screamed at me-- 'Story", cause you know theres a good one there, and I'm sure it will gather more. Story sounds like it would have good BUSMA . As far as the cops, we haven't been pulled over once in 8 months on the road. Knock on wood. I personally think that getting pulled over has to do with how you exude energy. The cops have a negative energy radar, and when you get nervous, they feel it, and then the lights go on........... Anyways, good luck on your bus trip, I'm sure it will be a long and strange one
Yea...which is better than the cops outside of Amarillo...we tryed to slow down to let them merge in but they were trying to get our plate number (at the time we had Kansas plates & they only give you a back plate....the cops were freaked that there was no front plate but we didn't know that when we slowed down) they gave us a warning ticket for 'impeding traffic' but at least there was no fine involved.
well i've never lived in a bus. but i did live in a pole and plywood cabin the bedroom of which was the shell of an old panel truck. it didn't have glass in one of the side windows and this was up in oregon, so to keep the rain from commin in made a kind of window that came close enough to fitting to do the job out the glass off the front of an old tv. another time, i was up in seattle, when i'd just gotten fired/quite, it's more complicated then either but no matter, the best/what some folks might call the only "real" job i'd ever had, so i wasn't entirely broke at that point, i lived by myself on a boat for most of a year or two. i did go broke and have to give it up. only thing i would have traded that experince for if i could would be a piece of land. i think those bussess are beautiful, but i hope the day will come when we don't have to buy the land, when it belongs to everybody and everybody takes care of it instead, in order to build the kind of little shelters from the stuff we find in nature and elsewhere and nobody trys to tell us not to live in them ever again. well i know the day will come. like a lot of other things a lot of people don't see or understand right now but one of these days will. only good thing that ever ends is what anyone takes for granted. sometimes they get interupted sooner. interuptions come and go too. =^^= .../\...
