Hey my name is ashley and i need some advice from any wise people. Im at the crossroads right now in my life im 19 and making plans for university ... i am the odd one out in my family thier very conservative and half the time won't be seen with me in public. Anyway ive had this huge urge to just finally finish school and leave travel to other countrys and really find myself meet other people. now i don't mean for a vacation i mean permanently for good. I am into alot of buddhist teachings and just want to go and experience life like im meant to not work my whole life at a money grubbing job just so i can " buy this car to drive to work , drive to work to pay for this car" it all seems pointless. But im expected by everyone to get a job that can make lotts of money. If i were to go to university and by the end be 50 000 dollars in debt i would have no real way of paying it off. I would be working for a charity somewhere or becoming a full time activist....the pay check isn't that good lol. I want to go and work in other countrys so that i can pay my way around teh world....but university would be able to help alot of people when i finally do get out im sure all that education can help somebody or at least help me in making the government and organizations take me and my cause more seriously ....... Yah see im really in a mess right now im going to meditate on it but i thought it really couldn't hurt to ask some people that have the same mindset as me so if any of you can be of any help or have any advice or stories of how you found your path would you please let me know it would help sooo much. Forever gratefull Ashley --19--Canada
the path finds you - something trips, and you take a turn in the direction of the rest of your life. shit, finish school, take a trip, let it come. don't expect life to hand you what you want in a quick minute. work is a reality. fun and creativity are neccessities to a healthy mind and soul. being able to connect the two is key. keep talking to folks, listen, learn and find what suites your need for fulfilling your life and passions. just keep on keepin' on. or become a missionary
Hey Ashley ! Have you ever considered the Peace Corp ? You would work, you would travel, you would see the world and have time to find yourself and give your path a chance to find you. Check it out. Peace and Love to you....don't give up...it's out there waiting...just be patient. Later.
