Alright, it's Friday night and I have to play at this Conductor's Symposium workshop for Symphonic Band. Basically two hours of band, but on a Friday night. Sucks, but it won't be too bad. Because I've got my friend Evan Williams going down my throat, Neil Young on my speakers (Only Love Can Break Your Heart, with me singing along) Mary Jane in my blood, and I have to be there in 15 minutes. Oh well, it's fun playing the tuba drunk. It's what tuba players do. Just figured I'd share with you guys.
Niiiice. Don't mean to sound like a square, but what is Evan Williams? And how big of an orchestra is it? Just wind and percussion, or strings too?
It's a bourbon whiskey, distilled in Kentucky. 43%. I tried to get some Canadian Mist, but Breaktime was out of that, so I went with EW. And Vapor, it's Symphonic Band, so woodwind, brass and percussion. It actually wasn't too bad, I had a good buzz and we got out a half hour early. Forward, I guess you have to be in band or know band jokes, but tuba players are stereotypically kinda stupid, drunk or hungover. I'm not necessarily a fit for the stereotype, but I gotta keep it going when I can. Band may suck in high school, but in college it's a lot more fun. But now back to drinking, and hopefully more smoking. I'm broke/lowering my tolerance, so I have to mooch off friends. Sucks, but they don't mind and we both know I'll return the favor when in need.
