so i was walking down the street the other day and found a letter someone had written. here it is, typed up for your reading pleasure: but yeah, it got me thinking....and now i'm curious about the topic, too does anyone here have any experience with coca at all, in any form other than substances like powder or freebase cocaine? chewing coca, cocaethylene, coca tea? i dont care about regular cocaine, so dont even mention it. what i'm looking for is information on coca. if i were in a situation where >I< might be getting coca tea bags (hypothetically maybe 100 of them) i'd be tempted to try and make a tincture, too. partly for experimentation purposes, but also as a general medicinal tonic as it used to be consumed. what do you folks think? any input?
I had coca tea while I was in South America. All I can say is it's the BEST cure for altitude sickness
thats what i hear...i never really liked cocaine much, but ive heard coca tea is really good for altitude sickness and stomach problems, and that as tea it is more stimulating than tea, a bit less stimulating than coffee, but with no jitters. so good for fatigue, too. coca was used in a lot of medicines and tonics many years ago, and often in combination with alcohol. apparently a bit of alcohol will make the psychoactive aspect stand out at least a bit more, but still not on the level of insufflating coke. i may or may not like the preparation in terms of recreational usage, [were i ever able to try it] but am convinced it likely has some usefulness to one end or another, whether for enjoyment, as a medicine for various ailments or fatigue in place of caffeine.... if you do searches on the history of vin mariani and coca-cola and other products you can find a decent amount of information about these products, but not how they were made. i would expect a potent extract dropped into a drink (finding proper dosage dropwise until familiar with the end product) would be just as effective as vin mariani. were i to make an experiment of this, i might even consider adding other useful and healthful herbs to the concoction...ginger, ginseng, or mint.... ginger is great for stomach ailments, fresh ginseng for energy and other benefits, mint for stomachs and flavoring (less expensive than fresh ginseng or ginger, for one) but whatever. perhaps i'm simply destined to not really know if any of this would work. i sure don't know how i would be able to go about doing this...and wouldn't if i could.......... .... .. curious....
