I'm stuck between a couple of different paths. I've been wanting to go pharmacy for awhile since I have an aunt in vegas that is the 5th highest paid person in the state and is in that profession. I also have an aunt and uncle in my neighboring state that do the same thing. All of them have offered me the chance for internship and since I will have my nursing degree this May (after doing many classes for just two years) and they can get me jobs in the hospital as well. The only problem is my debt is building up since I lost financial aid due to the 3 times i got busted drinking underage. School is very easy for me and anything with science or explaning what you cant see comes very natural. Since I took the path of getting a nursing degree first I still would have 6 years left for all pharmacy schooling if I took the recommended credit load (5 in a half if I do a couple more per semester). I was talking with one of my hippie brothers and he was telling me about how he's going into the marine corps to pay for his school and he only has to sign a 3 year contract. I started looking into the Navy and I would finish school two years earlier, but would most likely spend time in a war zone as an ER dr and less likely as a pharmacist. Also I have to add the only reason i considered this is because I believe that if I'm saving lives that seeing the things I will see can help spread how wrong war is. I've already learned that our medicine advances more from war than peace because of the terrible things we try to do to other people. So my question is.....if I am unsure about my safety and uncomfortable with the time I would be spending away from home should I take the path that will benefit me finacially and will finish quicker? or do I keep working my butt off to have the money to go to school and enjoy the college life?
Anything the military tells you is a lie! Their main objestive is to recruit bodies to throw into the fire of war. If finances and safety are your main concerns you damn sure don't want the military. The military cripples the soul and you may well find yourself with an M16 in your hands instead of a stethoscope.
The pharmacist is the 5th highest paid person in Las Vegas--I call bullshit. All the people that own those casinos and hotels, not making as much as a pharmacist. Yeahhh.
