The medicine wheel

Does anyone actualy know what the medicine wheel actualy is???

I have a rough idea

It piont in four diretions north east south and west. And each direction has it's own meaning and spirit. And then there is grandmother earth and grandfather sky in it soimewhere as well and you are always at the center. Saying you are always at the center of the universe (Hence my signiture)

Do any of you know anything elce about it???

I've got these 2 indian mandellas which look kind of like that, a ring with feathers and stuff hanging down

 

gthe medicine wheel is essentialy how we relate to all our relations it honours all things earth sky fire water air thiose who crawl beneath the ground swim in the seas and fly above our heads it honours the 4 directions as well as the relationships between the races black yellow red and white
i cant remember the 12 steps of the medicine wheel (seneca tradition is what i learned) but a freind used the medicine wheel as a 12 step program for alcaholoics and the 12 steps of the medicine wheel somehow mirror the 12 of aa, but morte effectively since its all about honouring truth and accepting the truth then walking your true path in life

 

I learned the lakota tradition.....very cool!
