and you know what, since i hate people making money off shit that is supposed to be free, i will make them for free. i am pretty talented when it comes to geocities, pm if you want one. ive got nothing else to do. and yes, im serious about this.


edit: im sure Nathan would do this too, but i think hes a lot more busier than me at the moment.

 

You can do a lot of things for free, but that doesnt mean you have the skill to make what you desire. You could go make a pair of sandals out of a tire for FREE, but dont you think you could pay 10 bucks for a pair that feel a bit more comfy? He has a talent, and hes trying to use it to make himself a little money, I see nothing wrong with that... And just to back up my point a little, go into the fashion forums.. The same thing happens there. People sell their clothing items on ebay that they've made. Of course you could go knit your own for FREE, but... Well I think you get my point.

 

I've been geociting since 2000, and im very fluent with html. I dont think i wouldve posted earlier if i had no fucking clue on what to do.

 

I agree,sell it somewhere else.This isn't the classified ads.I remember the so called hippies selling shit on Telagraph in Berkely.They demanded their rights to be street venders.They spoke out against the capitalist shop owners,but when it came down to it,they were doing the same thing.

I don't see anything wrong in charging 5 bucks considering you get an entire website... That's not being greedy, surely.

Perhaps another way could be "I would kindly ask if you could offer a small donation in appreciation of the work I have done" and leave it up to the buyer to determine how much they will pay.

 

I like that idea a lot more.

 

yeah, lots more sense... especially if you're asked to make a site that'll take like... 5 days to work on to tweak it right... Funny thing, I'm actually just starting with web ddesign as well... I checked out your sites and they're pretty cool. Good luck with it. I happen to work for an ISP and they're trying to find a web design spot for me (crossing fingers). In order to get more for a resume, I'm taking over a non-profit website so I can appear more professional. If any of the things I did actually help out a lot, I'll let ya know so you can make use of proven techniques. Anyways, happy building!
