Are you refering to the Mayan Long Count calendar, which suggests, the next world age shift will occur in 2012 A.D.

yes the mayan callender is the most accurate callender ever made....and ends in 2012 when the cycle is over.... the north and south poles are switching as we speak and thats why the weatheres so fucked up.(not global warming)

When its said that the Mayan calendar says the world will end in 2012 AD, is that counting the Gregorian calendar (the one we follow that says its 2007) from its inception, or from the most recent adjustment?

Our calendar is off by as much as +/- 7 years from some calculations they did back in the middle ages when, based on these calculations, they jumped some years to bring it back to what they thought was correct. Also, our calendar is thought to be based on the birth of Christ, however, there are questions as to whether or not he was really born in year one. Last I heard anything on the subject, it was potentially +/- 30 years.

That means that the year 2012 could have passed several years ago, or still be 40 some odd years away.

its a shift.. not one single point in time..i personally think that every entity in this part of the galaxy, specifically this solar system..and of course our planet will experience personal changes... not like someone flips one light switch on but that every light switch will either change or stay behind in some unevolved dimension(ie, the one we're in currently)... the indigenous from new zealand say 'the curtain will fall' the curtain between physically and spiritual reality will disappear bringing the two together...

its not an end, its a new beginning... I just hope it happens cause this place has become increasingly dissapointing... but false hopes are never beneficial so I say, hope for the best..and if we see one another on the other side, then hell yes... im excited

by the way its december 21st...(but as i said, i think everyones on their own time frame) it takes some longer to evolve than it does others...

i heard the earth has had 4 or 5 polarity flips in the past, very interesting stuff. We are do for a flip anytime now, at least thats what the scientists think.

 

yes u are right....this is not the first polarity switch...jus the first of our time(mankind as we know it)

 

Its a shift in conscience, the change of who has control over the earth. Right now there is a balance in who has control over it, once 2012 hits, he will begin his reign.....in your thoughts and actions

 

In Terrence Mckenna's novelty theory, he cites Dec 31, 2012 as the occurence of an event in which everything conceivable will happen all at once. In most of his tapes and lectures he is unclear about what this means exactly or how it will manifest itself, but he says that his calculations based on the long count mayan calendar also point to a signicant event taking place on this date.

 

I'm hoping we will all just wake up and we can all take paradise back together.

It's strange how so many now believe that the world is going to end in a matter of a few years. Guess what? There have been millions of false apocalypse predictions, and we're still here, aren't we? Plus, why didn't the Mayan civilization predict its very own conquest, if they were so 'wise' as to knowing time better than anybody else? All in all, I highly doubt this is the end of the world, or the end of anything at all.

 

yeah. it's fun to speculate, but hoping for some golden future is simply wishful thinking. nothing/nobody is going to save us from ourselves. you create the world you want to live in. simple.
