New Jefferson Airplane book w/5 star reviews and 93 photos!!

Hi there and thank you for letting me introduce myself. I was told it was okay to put this in the music section.

My name is Craig Fenton and I have written a new book on the rock band the Jefferson Airplane called "Take Me To A Circus Tent."

I didn't know if I would be allowed to post the 5 star reviews so I didn't want to make any enemies.

The book is unlike any written previously on the Airplane. Founding member Marty Balin says a really nice thing on the back cover.

93 Photos (Starting from 1963) including many never in print before, and possibly the 2 rarest Airplane pictures ever, one with Bob Harvey & Jerry Peloquin in the band from 1965 and the other an autographed photo from early 1966 with Skip Spence, Paul signs his name “Paul Airplane.” 266 Questions & Answers are examined from the Airplane & Family. These are not the same old of the same old! 121 live shows are documented with complete and accurate information. All the obscure songs and jams finally have titles. All special guests are mentioned and the first and last time the song is performed is noted. 60 unreleased gems from the studio vaults are explored, including the 1965 Columbia (That is correct) demo with Bob Harvey!


I am a former radio disc-jockey and the passion for rock and roll has been with me since I turned 13. Being old isn't cool, but having grown up with the magic of 60's and 70's rock and roll is something I wouldn't want to have missed.

It has been an honor to have written the book and get emails from all over the world. It is not me that does the favor, it is the great people like you that have supported the book.

Any chance you can field a Jorma question for me? I have always wondered what axe he was playing for the recording of the Typewriter Tapes..... any clue there?

Hi Samson: While the famous Typewriter Tape is talked about (Complete songs) in my book "Take Me To A Circus Tent" , I do not have the answer about Jorma's choice of guitar.
