Does anyone have any tips to help me remember my dreams? I've tried chanting "I will remember my dreams" as I fall asleep, but it didn't work very well. Any suggestions?
When you wake up in the mornings close your eyes and don't do anything and think about what you were just dreaming. That generally works for me. It helps if you write it down, too.
as far as i can tell, what you feel in a dream will drain of its own accord. the only way to change how well you remember a dream is how the dream occurs itself. Some dreams are easier to remember, lke anything that ends in a shock from something in the dream (getting shot etc.). Other times it can depends on how much emotion is put into the dream, more making it more memorable. the only way i think these things can be changed is if you change your diet, as that might have effect on sleeping and therefore dreaming habits. I dont know any perticular changes, but id look into if ya really wanted to remember dreams (and remember a lot of eating habit changing would sooner give you gas than different dreams)
It is nice to get a bunch of ideas together all from different views and experiences. Here is my two cents ... drink a lot before going to sleep so that in the middle of dreams you will head for the bathroom (and keep a pencil and sketchbook within reach). Allow yourself to take short naps during the day, and just balance on the edge of dreamtime then. Be aware of your waking life specially where you feel like your energy is low. Exercise remembering. This is not so much a brain trip, but to look on whatever is present from a place of feeling connected inside. Remember that nothing is missing and that you are complete, and this will not be later tonight ... but is right now even as you sit on the computer and read this post. And do not run after lost dreams but take all that jumps into your awareness almost like a dream, and embrace it, and let go again. Be whole ... and this is not just a phrase. Hope this helps too!
1) set your sleep cycle to begin way earlier then you need to so it will end naturaly long before there's anything you need to get up for so you won't need to use an alarm 2) live completely by yourself so there will be no one to interupt your attention on waking 3) review the events you've experienced in your dreams as and while awaikening while they're still fresh in your mind before any sort of distractions can cause you to loose track of them 4) and finaly don't worry about the ones that get away the important thing isn't remembering or analizing them but what you do in them (which you don't really need to concern yourself overly with or about other then when and while you are) =^^= .../\...
