I Think i'm going to be a tattoo artist some day. I just get such a great joy drawing on skin. I don't know why, i guess because it feels so alive.

drawing on skin is a lot different from tattooing skin. When you draw on it you feel it under the tip or the pen, thats the feeling of it being alive, that slight acceptance of your point as the skin 'gives' to it. When you tattoo, there is no resistance whatsoever, the process is more based on your perception and your feeling. The needles carve their way through the flesh but you are the one to guide it and you have to make sure you guide it right. (This is why a lot of people complain about tattoo artsists drilling the needles into them too much, because some artists dont really know their craft as well as they should)

I wish you the best if you decide to take up the craft, but its a very very difficult business to get into.

You should be a tattoo artist - you would be great! I'd get one from ya  IMHO the skin drawings aren't as cool as the wall ones though.

You should definitely never stop doing art.. I want to see some of your stuff with some color though, it'd be super psychedelic.

i draw on my skin alot too... i think i like doing it so much because you get the whole double sensation thing, of the drawing and the feeling of the pen on your skin *nods*

very hard :p best way is to get an apprenticeship with a local shop they will make u start out sweepin floors and washin windows and pretty much fuckin around and doin their lightwork for little or no pay but jsut to be able to set around the shop and watch what they do and then ull work up to makin stencils for them and then doin some of ur own drawins and things like that and then close to the end they will let u tattoo like a piece of meat or a grapefruit or sumtin and most shops will make u give urself a tat before givin u a machine and letting u give other ppl tats man but every bit of this is worth it if u are truly interested in the art of tattooing and ur stuff is very good so i think u could do it but like someone else has said its a whole different ballgame from drawing on ur skin to drawing in the skin :p

So a college degree of any kind isn't going to help any here? Damn it seems like a bitch to become one. I don't think that the actual tattooing could be that hard for me to catch onto.
