i shouldn't say first, because i've crocheted a few bags before, but this! i just got a sewing machine, the first i've ever owned. after swearing at it and turning the directions in circles i have managed to create: a patchwork bag! (my old bag is falling apart. this is a godsend) i apologise for both the bad photos and the state of the bag, i didn't iron the seams or anything. look, it may not be super special or anything, but it is my first hip creation on the planet and i am uber-excited about it, so much so that i had to share it with you fine people. i hand-sewed all the patches together (except for the pocket and strap, before i got my machine and when i had a ton more free time on my hands) and then put the damn thing together today. we'll see how well it holds up! anyway, thanks for listening, the tooting of my own horn has officially ceased.
I think the state of the bag is very cool, and the pics turned out great, so no apologies! Steller job!
I like it My first bag was handsewn out of denim scraps. Ironing the seams flat definitely makes sewing much less frustrating. I iron soooo much when I sew.
I think it's wonderful, you did great! You're inspiring me to get off my butt and finish my projects.... Best of luck on your future efforts!
thanks everyone, i appreciate it. after using it for three days to lug things around, it's holding up great. so there! :daisy:
i always have a certain respect for people who hand-sew projects, especially ones that turn out that good! (ive been spoiled with machines, i wouldnt know how to sew by hand the right way :S) great job! oh, and ive seen bags like that sell for a good forty bucks at this one store in the mall
