I have a case fan on a computer that runs at 12v and 1.50A and plugs into the main board if I replace that with a fan that runs at 12v and 0.60A will the new one burn out ???? or could it damage the motherboard
I only want to replace it due to the fact the old one is really big and noisy
its off a dell poweredge 600sc server

    from an electrical perspective

the fan drawing .6 A draws less than the fan drawing 1.5 A

so i'd say it would be ok

my only worry is ... will this fan draw enough air through the case?

you are replacing an old fan with one that draws less power and you'd expect it would shift less air than the old one??

Yes, electrically you are just fine with the lower current.

Whether the lower powered fan will move the same amount of air (and provide the same cooling) is the potential problem here. Do you have CFM ratings on the old and new fans?
