So I'm still fairly new to going veg....a few months now, I think. And what I really need is a basic list of things (from the slaughterhouse) that I need to be avoiding. Besides meat (the obvious), all I know to avoid is gelatin. Is there a website I can visit that has such a list? And maybe what sort of things contain gelatin and the like......If I have to read the ingrediants on everything I will....I dunno, I'm still learning. Also, I am having these mad cravings for meat...which I know I wont give into.....but do these cravings go away in time? Thanks for any help:)
edit: I have made a similar thread here before...sorry for repeating myself. I dont think I got really the answcers I needed from any links....but I may not have looked hard enough. I can be pretty absent-minded alot of the time.;)

Most cheeses have like some organ or some shit of an animal. Yeah it sucks, a lot of stuff has gelatin in it. I can't think of any others, but there are more, search for listings of animal products.

    congrats on going veggi!

gelatin is a huge pain in the butt... something that i didn't realize it was in until after i'd eaten it was sherbet (that ice cream fruity stuff).

rennet aka. microbial enzyme is the one that is in cheese, it's made from an enzyme in the stomachs of baby cows.

theres a list on the peta website of animal ingredients too, although i'm not so sure of the exact website...

and yea, the meat cravings will go away, and if you keep craving them badly then there's some awesome meat replacements out there!
