mass wedding ceremony at my local mall

now if thats not redneck i dont know what is.

the radio station is hosting this mass wedding thing where 103 couples are going to married at the mall and win prizes and shit. i know a couple of people who are getting married just so they can win a prize. they arent even dating or nothing. its this weekend and i think ill go watch just for kicks

I'm just shocked by the idiocy of the idea of mass weddings , but it must be entertaining to watch

 

Within 5 years 60% will be annulled, 20% will be at each others throats, and out of the remaining 20% at least one couple will end their marriage by way of murder/suicide

ahahahahaaaaa! that sounds like a blast!!! i'd reaffirm my vows that way. i was planning on getting some serious redneck duds and a fake pregnant belly, getting married by elvis and hitting the bar so i can say "make it a double! i'm drinkin' fer two." it's long been my dream to do that. this would be good too, though. and cheaper.

 

Let's get hitched. We'll split all the shit 90/10 just like a regular divorce.

 

An annulment and a divorce/separation are two very different things. I imagine a fair number will be annulled (ie from never having been consummated) and yeah, some divorces will invariable come out of that as well.

actually an annulment has nothing to do with consummation, its when botrh sides reach their own agreement and don't fight each other in court

perhaps in American courts, in Canadian you can get a wedding annulled within a "reasonable" time frame if it hasn't been consummated.

 

dude...there was a thing in the stockton paper about it today.

apparantly the 103 couples had to sign up ahead of time and there were actually a lot more couples wanting to do it, mostly young pregnant couples.

haha its tomorrow!! me and my best friend are going to go take pictures. stockton has the strangest assortment of people you ever saw. ahaha id be happy to share the pictures

its really rainy today. ive never even seen rain like this!! driving in it was sooo scary. now im going to spend the rest of the evening getting stoned in my pajamas. not in the rain.
