I was looking on the back of a can of Fanta yesterday and interestingly I found that the number you ring to contact the Coca Cola Company was called the Coke Line! How they got that one through I don't know. It must be intentional, surely. There's no way that everyone in the upper echelons of the company could be so out of touch that they could do something like that by accident. "Well, we're called Coke. So what do we call our phone number? Ahh, the Coke Line!" They were probably doing several lines when they thought that one up....
Has anyone phoned that number on jaffacakes? "Jaffaholics Anonymous. If you think you've got a problem, call in the strictest confidence"
Ages ago, a Japanese company wanted to use classic comedy cartoon...um...clucker...Woody Woodpecker as their logo/trademark type thing. They were getting it ready for licensing and everything, but then they had a meeting with the US branch of their company. Amid myriad guffaws (fucking hell that looks like Latin), the US reps explained to their colleagues why referring to a "pecker" and telling users to "touch Woody" to get help was not a good idea. Sure, you can blame that on national colloquialism barriers. So, another example. McDonalds once ran a web campaign with the slogan "I'd hit it", with banners depicting young men and women gazing admiringly at a burger. The man even went so far as to proclaim himself a "dollar menu guy". Try searching for McDonalds I'd Hit It on Google, and you'll get a wall of results from websites telling you that McDonalds wants you to fuck their burgers. This second example tells us two things. One; even big companies let things like this slip occasionally. Two; we must immediately make a big website telling other people that the Coca Cola Corp is run by a big dirty bunch of drug fiends, in keeping with the tradition of taking the piss out of our exploiters and opressors on the internets. May I suggest the domain Cocacocaine.com?
found this in a toy shop other day ................fuckin disgusting .....only went in for a chemistry set .
Brilliant. A game for all the family. First its all smiles, happiness and euphoria. Then shortly after the divorce and separation, the kids will become confused then angry and develop personality problems, growing up to be theives and misfits. Line-o-Coke. It even has the MB trademark. Pure class.
you realize that Coke Cola used to be made from cocaine and still is the only product to be manufactured in the States that is allowed to use decocanized cocaine to make it's syrup. that fact though makes the coke line even funnier however.
Yeah, I only found out recently that they still use coca leaf extract in the flavourings. Interesting....
