This is a poem about recovering from a divorce/separation. let me know what you guys think!

    Today

    Monday

    she moved two doors down

her pillows inside of her blankets

    a hobo's sack

her clothing on white plastic hangers

suspended off her fingers in a ā€œuā€

    Tuesday

    I awoke alone in bed

one side empty except for a blue pillow

    and my outstretched legs

    feeling the cold uncovered sheets

    Wednesday

I felt the sun warm the cold winter air

    as I walked

    a man without shackles

    Thursday

I saw a girl sitting next to me

    smile and wink

    and I smiled back

    And Today?

Today I called an old friend

    and a smile pulled at

    the corners of my lips.
