Fucking disgusting behaviour. Are the US soldiers not trained to behave properly and to treat people humanely before being sent out to war?

I hope this guy gets captured and made to parade around like a twat, even better if he was tortured.

Does anybody have more information about this ?

I can't tell and do not know if it is even soldiers ?.

'' Setting a good example, creating future insurgents? ''

Imho the poor kids did not have a clue what was being said to them. Just seemed eager to please.

''Are the US soldiers not trained to behave properly and to treat people humanely before being sent out to war?''

Sure they are, in any and every war some soldiers do stupid shit. This is mild.

Thankfuly for every idiot there are thousands of decent respectful soldiers [if that is actualy who did this - i do not know].

It might be private security ?.

gardener do you think it is a tiny minority or the majority ?.

Imho a few stories are overshadowing the thousands of positive stories about what the majority of soldiers are doing. I suppose ''Soldier opens youth club'' is not such a controversial story

I have no idea. Whether or not it's a minority, it's wrong, and it shouldn't be allowed to happen. Where are the commanding officers? These young people are there doing a job and representing the American public. They have no right or excuse for misbehavior.

As to the stories of beneficial actions by GIs I hear about them, but if actions like the original post or the soldiers baiting children with water are allowed to take place then any postive action that may take place will be overshadowed. All the more reason for a zero tolerance for such behavior.

    Fair enough.

I think it is the minority.

I agree with you. Imho it is sad when a few disgrace the many.
I'd like more info. I do not now the details of either story - and the outcome of those involved [if any]. We can all scourn this behaviour but if they have been 'dealt with' that should be highlighted also.

There used to be a member of Hip Forums (maybe he still is) that used to fuck his dog. You should be careful with generalizations. Don't let the actions of a few speak for an entire group, because this tactic can be applied to any situation.

Inhumane behavior is actually quite common in war. Not just making fun of kids, but raping women, random killing of civilians for fun, torturing people. I don't know if you can even say it's the "minority," because it's a pathology of war. It's often something that even those who don't take part in are well aware of, but are trained to keep silent about. War makes normal people insane, makes them do things they would never have even thought themselves capable of. It's horrible, even when there's actually a threat that soldiers are defending their people from. When they're just fodder for some sick plan of the wealthiest people in the world to get richer, it's disgusting and criminal.

I appreciate it is common in war - it is if it is a minority or the majority - that is what i wonder. I also appreciate it maybe 'widely know' but i think that is because these crimes are reported or/and investigated.

Being nasty to kids [making them chase a bottl] is just dumb - i imagine it was not the war that made him do that - he is just dumb - end of story.

I'm not 100% on how many troops are out there but i still think the majority do a difficult job very well. Then their is a minority that are dick heads to put it bluntly. You will never get a large group of people who are all perfect and do nothing dispicable /stupid.

I agree 100%. Our troops are completly out of line. Therefore we should load up every last one of them and bring them home . So this will not happen again.........

Members of the armed forces--the soldiers not so much the officers--are brainwashed to believe that the enemy of the month is sub-human.
That makes it easier to kill them, if they regard them as not really human beings.
So the video is not surprizing. I bet the "higher-ups" just dismiss this as innocent fun.

I imagine a certain amount of emotional detachment is drilled into soldiers.
One of the things that can occurs when being a soldier - is the possibility you will have to kill someone -as i'm sure will not be new news. Acting like fuck heads [e.g given in video] has nothing to do with having a profesional soldier mentality.

this is the standard behavior of serial killers too - deny the humane nature of their victim degrading her/him to an anatomic doll or a pest to eradicate (typical for: prostitutes, clergymen...) . Or to the legitimate target of their cruel games . And soldiers are nothing than professional, wage-earning serial killers . This is no side effect, it is just some "good soldiers" having their periodical "mindset training" . But when they get busted, the State Hypocrisy requires a little spanking on their mimetic war asses for the good of P.R.

This is the MO for military behavior. Combine diffusion of responsibility and the brutality of conducting war as an occupier and it desensitizes and dehumanizes the soldiers. They start to see these children as just another future "insurgent". Just as with Vietnam, the War in Iraq will leave the American psyche with deep mental and physical scars. Not to mention the actual harm done physically and mentally to all of those civilians in the line of fire.....how can we blame them for choosing sides. If 200,000 Cuban troops invaded Florida you'd have every American from the Everglades to the fields of Kansas responding in kind with whatever tactics necesary to repel invasion. What if they claimed to be liberating us from tyrranny?? It would perhaps ring a little more true than our claims of the same kind in Iraq and Afghanistan,

    ONE LOVE
