so.. now that scientists have decided Pluto is not a planet after all.. does that mean that scorpios ruling planet now becomes Mars again? Mars was originally scorpios ruling planet until pluto was found then it became a co-ruler... so now what? does pluto still rule as our planet or does mars take control again? and mars does take control again.. how has this affected scorpio?
There was a thread about this earlier. Most modern astrologers will continue to use Pluto since their logic is to pay attention to any body in the solar system whether it is called a planet or not. I follow traditional astrology, so I never even used Pluto, Uranus, or Neptune, so it's not an issue for me.
Pluto in Scorpio - Scorpio Pluto Astrologers have assigned Pluto's rulership to Scorpio. Pluto travels its fastest in Scorpio, spending only 12 years in that sign, where it spends up to thirty years in the other signs. The planet Earth experienced perihelion between the Sun and Pluto in September of 1989, or its closest contact with that planet, during which time Pluto actually orbited on the inside of Neptune for a while. Here we have felt Pluto at its strongest. This is a convincing argument in itself that Pluto rules Scorpio. Sexual matters are the main manifestation of Pluto in Scorpio. There was an alarming spread of the AIDS virus. Questions arose and demanded consideration about what constitues safe, responsible sex. Free mores of the 1960s and '70s had revealed a need to concern ourselves with the implications of what we still welcome as more open attitudes about sex. Sexual violence and rape also came to the fore. Hardly a day went by when there was not some story, great or small, in the newspaper. Pluto in Scorpio challenges people to deal with tension in productive ways. Unfortunately, purpetrators of physical violation find their outlet through aggressive outbursts. Pluto in Scorpio also calls self-esteem into question, with a general helplessness the result. Defences are down all around. Pluto in Scorpio also had a dramatic impact on religion. Notice the number of cases of sexual abuse that were highlighted within the church. Also notice, on a more positive note, people's increasing interest in discovering the common thread in their fellow human beings and nurturing it for the better rather than, like their ancestors, using it as a noose. We are challenged to be more responsible toward the welfare of each other without loosing our respect for ourselves. A mixture of directness and compassion is the subtle key. It is an alchemical process, whereby we find the right proportion of allegiance and maverickness, producing wisdom.
doesn't affect me as I do traditional as well so I'd probably still take as much notice of it as I ever did asteroids are used as well as planets so it just kind of bumps it down to Chiron level, people who use any astrological body will probably not have an issue with continuing to use pluto
what effect does a passing comet have? will it's firey tail of brilliance render all the planets and dwarf planets alike impotent?
Can someone PLEASE tell me what scorpio in taurus means? I know it's a little off topic, but I've been wondering forever.
Actually that doesn't make sense. Scorpio and Taurus are two different signs one cannot be in the other. Here is some terminology: You CAN have two signs in the same house. This is called interception. Regarding signs, you can have a planet in a sign, a planet in a house, and/or a sign in a house but no planets. For example, here can be some true statements (these are all random examples mind you): I have Taurus in the 10th house with Gemini intercepting. I have Jupiter in the 3rd house I have Sagittarius in the 4th house I have Jupiter in Aquarius In an interpretation I wouldn't just take any of this info and find it useful. I would have to look at the entire chart.
Enlil I have Sun, Neptune, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in Scorp all in the 7th except for Mercury in the 8th (great for phone sex lol)... Can you even begin to imagine how I am in love? lol Oh yeah and Moon and Mars in Taurus in 2nd house.....
Ah... but in traditional astrology, Venus is in detriment in Scorpio! Depending on what degree Mercury and Jupiter (and Venus too actually) they are either dignified by term or perigrine. If they are perigrine, then that means there is no sense of "place" of direction. Also, depending on Mars' and the Moon's and Venus' aspects, then relationships are either going to be really beneficial or have problems. I would venture a guess you will get married though - although the marriage will have problems. The 2nd house is the house of wealth, but it's also a succeedant house, so it has a slight detriment to the planetary placements, but not too bad. Neptune doesn't mean anything to me.
Thanks!!! I have been married three times....!!! And Neptune is one of the strongest influences in my chart as it is conjunc sun and jupiter and venus....I am a love junkie....dreamy, overly romantic and very sexual and passionate in all I do... I totally fit the descriptions of all I read about which is in my chart.... YOu sound very knowledegable about astrology...thanks!!!!
I ignore Neptune Uranus and Pluto since I don't think their existence has been known long enough for people to really understand what they mean. Some classical astrologer do charts the old way using the original techniques which aren't done anymore and then add the new planets as an extra element. I just leave them out altogether. However, I DO pay attention to some modern techniques like interceptions and progressed charts since they just make sense to me. The thing is the original system with 7 planets worked really well and fit together much better than the current system, but when modern science started to move forward, many astrologers scrambled to figure out a way to explain astrology with science and they have to this day in my opinion failed. I don't think magnetism or gravity is the reason why astrology works since first of all magnetic and gravitational effects aren't so neglegible with all the planets besides the Moon. As most astronomers state, the gravitational influence of the computer on which I am typing has more gravitational and magnetic influence on me than Mars does. So I use the original system which is based on what you could see with the naked eye which makes much more sense to me rather than try to stuff every single celestial body one can into a chart.
Wow interesting..... Neptune and Uranus have been two of the most influential planets in my life....neptune being my creativity and uranus being my greatest teacher.... It would be interesting to see what you make of my chart with your interps....if you want I could let you have my birth data.....if not no worries... thanks !!
I don't really want to do a full interpretation because it takes a lot of time, but if you have more specific questions that's cool.
Of course,,,,I understand....its very time consuming indeed!!! thanks One question....what is your sun, moon, venus and mars in and if you have already typed this, sorry I missed it...
