    wish you were here-Pink Floyd
    > i miss my mother, much like Syd Barrett is missed in this song. it really helps me, especially after smoking some weed.

elliott smith often captures how i feel during the worst of times.... doesn't really bring me out of those times, but his songs comfort me anyway

I'm going through a tad of a rough time right now...

and yes... Elliot Smith does the trick, as Chuck said... at least with comfort.
    So does Sun Kil Moon.

I'm sure it's 'Better Now' by Collective Soul. The lyrics said it all for me.

'That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore' by The Smiths.

And 'Comfortably Numb' by Pink Floyd always helps. As does John Lennon's 'Imagine'.

I look at the world and i notice it's turning
    While My Guitar Gently Weeps
With every mistake we must surely be learning
    Still my guitar gently weeps
    -Beatles
It just kinda pulls the sadness out...
