I am seeing Michael Franti, Pato Banton, and Mystic Roots in SF pretty soon. It will be indoors and all of the bands are pretty big reggae bands and consume copious amounts of cannabis. I'm going with friends and we are most likely going to blaze something like an 8th in the front row. I was wondering what people on the forums considered proper etiquette for smoking in concert settings. I intend to be respectful of the people around me, and not blow smoke in their direction if it bothers them, but I doubt it will be a problem because it is such a big reggae show. Has anyone had any notable experiences smoking at concerts?
roll a bunch of joints, throw each in a prime time tube, throw em in your shoe, take out when ready, pass em around and blaazzee but this concert sounds cool, I like Mystic Roots but haven't heard of the other 2. do they sound similar? and is there a website for the tickets and date?
the etiquette is to share your weed with any cool people who are dancin next to you. dont do it in front of security because if it is indoors, you might not be allowed to smoke. but if youre in the crowd, no one is gonna come through and stop you
If it's sold out or near, security can't even get to you most of the time... at least at the venue I go to. The best way to do it is the smoking area, if there is one. Just have a cigar to mask the odor and then if a rent-a-bouncer comes near, whip that out and start powerpuffing it.
all venues and shows are different man, at some places you have to hit bowls and one hitters covering it and bending down and shit and take one toke every few minutes, other venues you can smoke blunts like cigarettes and pass them around wihtout really giving a fuck. just watch how active the security is being and what other people are doing and go from there. just dont be stupid.
When I was at a Nine Inch Nails concert last February, security was constantly going through the crowds and bringing people out. I agree with Napolean. Know how tollerant the venue and security is. Just keep a look out for security coming after you. If anything just get baked before the concert and take a couple of joints or a one hitter to keep the buzz going. Good luck and don't get caught.
if your allowed to smoke cigs inside, the you can definitely smoke a joint. if not, then get into the middle of the crowd, and be discrete. for the most part, i find that smaller venues are more tolerant than larger venues. also, ya usually get the pat-down before entering a venue. some venues are more through than others, some staff are more through than others... i recommend using your shoes for any drug(weed, shrooms, acid, coke, etc.)... once your inside your pockets will be fine to store your drugs. the shorter time the substance is in your shoe the better, as heat may affect it. as far as etiquette, most people don't mind a little smoke around them... but remember that some don't want to go home smelling like weed, and some, like me, are on probation and don't want to inhale any weed smoke.
hahahahahahahaha, yes. Everyone is so drunk and high that no one cares about etiquette, especially at the reggae concerts I've been to. If the people around you ask for a hit or two, let them have it, I mean, you have an eighth. Thats the only real etiquette. It doesnt matter. I blew the ashes in the bowl out into the air and no one cared. I would say, to be safe, blow the smoke straight up towards the cieling so you dont piss anyone off. But dont worry about it if you just blow it out, no one should be facing you whos in front of you, so they wont care. If it does get in their face, then hey, they get some free second hand smoke Thats awesome that you get to see Mystic Roots! I get to see the FUCKING WAILERS in about a week!!!!!!!!!!!
as long as you're smart about it, you'll be fine. most of the people on here gave some great advice, and i couldnt put it any better, so im just gonna say have fun, and tell us how amazing it was later
Yeah, especially if he's playing with Dubconsious and you're going to a concert down Southeast. they'll be in norfolk shortly, just a ways from here... Though most people I know are going to the 9:30 club to see him in DC.
