I am of the belief that when Family Gather, where We gather is Our Church, Our Sanctuary, Our offering a blessing of Our love to all Family and to Mother Earth. Many come to the gatherings to avoid the noise, the pollution, to wander as One with nature. At last years gathering I was quite shock when a chain saw was being used in the immediate area of Main Circle, a place held by many as the most scared spot of where we gather. Have we, brothers and sister, forgotten how to use axes and saws, to gather wood for Our fires with Love and blessings. Would not the funds used to procure gas/oil been better ultilizied towards Green Project for Our Community. "In every community there is work to be done. In every nation, there are wounds to heal. In every heart there is the power to do it." Marianne Williamson This year, proposed plans for motorized boat usage; on the list of Urgent Needs number 1 was gasoline. Why not saws/axes, oars/ paddles, and all brothers/sister walking and blessing each other with their efforts. Do you want to hear the sounds of a motor going across your senses while being One with nature and Family. Or rather hear the sounds of Family oaring and singing and paddling and laughing and doing what has to be done to get it done. When is spreading LOVE and BLESSINGS onto Our Family, Work!!! The only reason that it may be "...working too hard..." is because there is Family, brothers and sisters, that let others do their share. Is that not what Loving and Blessing Family is..it is for My Family! Are not the Brothers and Sisters Of Our Family able to use oars and poles to transport water and supplies for their use and those of other family members. But yet, I must give recognition to the project that is purposed here. Yet I have to add this is not money that would be spent on "gas/oil" be better ulitlized. "...Once the water system is up and running, we'll once again be playing around with ways to get water up in the air, then filtered for drinking water, showers, and kitchen use. If you have one of those groovy gravity-fed katadyn systems in your shed, your family needs it in Florida. If it shows up, we will make it work...." Better yet, Florida Family should start building its own filtration system so we can stop spending so much money on fossil fuels! We could build a system capable of delivering much of the gathering's water needs for less than $1000, and then we'd have it to use for years Just think what we'd be doing now if we'd bought this system 5 years ago ($5000 in gas money later)..." This causes me concern for where does it stop? Do We sacrifice ideals, for what? Are there not other solutions? I will answer that one, Yes by all family brothers, sisters, young, old doing what they can and what needs to be done, giving blessings to the Family, blessings to themselves for they are Family. Not allowing some to do what needs to be done but all making it sure it get done. As the saying goes,"...ain't nothing to it but to do it...", so get with it. why not use the solar filter system thst was used in michigan? and i remember a very peaceful canoe trip across the lake at an ocala gathering several years ago, as well as remember people getting all upset when the leo's came in on atv's...if we get upset about them using vehicles on site how could we dare use motors ourselves hell i even remember some people getting all bent outta shape about someone who used a modified gas powered wheelchair on site next we'll have power generators, wire the whole site , have amplified music 24/7 and be just another fest its 1 thing if it really is an urgent need, as in, thetres just no other way to do it, like i forget where it was where we had to truck in all the watyer... but if theres any low tech or green energy (human powered, or other) way to do things then thats ou responcibility as caretakers of the earth to go that route
that is truly sad, where are the other rainbows comments on this subject??? is this a touchy subject for some.....well it shouldnt be how are you going to start to mondernize rainbow why dont you start charging at front gate and getting DJs and lights i dont get it there is nothing that cant be done with effort of family so what if its a lil hard..... we all believe in this family and have choosen a path that feels to be better way of life how are we going to start bringing the noise and destruction from Babble-on from society what ever yall want to call it to the safe haven in the woods... ARE HOME where my family your family EVERYONES family comes to gather and sends there beautiful energies of love and harmony of serenity and truth whats wrong with family unity to get things done.....the gratification of working with your fellow brothers and sisters and doing something for all and just SMILING it feels good to work hard and see the fruits of labor shine brightly on all the family dont give up......give more, anything.. we can do it together and then hug, laugh, smile, and be one with all it is truly beautiful when we all come together love and light with all my blessings measa
Comments, hmmm...babylonian noise, chains saws, gas could be used other ways...man, I'm not going to gripe about the chain saw when I have no idea if there was a good reason for the chain saw or not. And even if there wasn't a reason I concidered to be good, who am I to tell other people what to do unless I am willing to take over the job myself? I know those chainsaws come in right handy when trees catch on fire. It woulda made more sense to follow the noise when it was occuring and possibly offer to put together a hand saw crew as opposed to coming on-line and complaining that values are being sacrificed.
I can see not wanting to hear a chainsaw during the gathering, I can not stand to even hear electric guitars during the nationals....but before and after? ledderrip!
why dont you bring some sharp axes n bowsaws to the next gathering !! you see nothing is stopped by hyperritchous indignation , but may just change as viable alternatives become possible .
The Florida gathering doesn't hold the old ideals or values that were once the Rainbow Way. There is a more modern convience feel to the Fl gathering, and a more party oriented mentality. years back i got over being frustrated about this & moved on. Even tho i live in Florida, i no longer attend the ocala gathering, even a couple of kidz i know who live in ocala nolonger attend either. I think the 3 of us actually need a national to recharge our batteries.
Mabe it stops when somebody canigulates how to run all off methanol distilled on the land at the Raven's Nest, and the WVO from Shut up &c's fryery...
That my friend this is truly sad news, how is it possible to feel Mother Nature, to breath her in, when you hear nothing but the loud unmerciful wail of the chainsaws and motorboats. This is a heartbreaking report. Something should be done I for one will make a stand with you if one needs to be made.
