hey i am back. and i am going to take a trip to amsterdam again this year's june. for 1-2months i am going to camp this year allso

and i am wondering what are my chances of camping on someone elses property ?(since i understand that parks are "watched"

i was wondering if anyone of you could fill me up on these:

1.is there a fine for camping on someone else's property in netherlands ? if so what amount would it be

    2. any good places that have enough empty space in "the ring city" preferbly near a subway station

allso any other hints and tips are very welcome (i know about the camping grounds and i will be using them some of the time but i am looking to save money and i love camping)

Try www.campingzeeburg.nl only 5.00 euro per nite I'm camping there Q-Day holiday. Also you may try www.gaaspercamping-amsterdam.nl real nice camped there in 06 for Q-day but they charge 10.25 per day. As for outlaw camping there are areas in Vondel Park where I have seen where pepole have camped. Tents of course would be out of the question maybe a bivey would work. The worst that would happen is you would be run off by the cops or robbed by the park Trolls[IMG] . Most go sleep in the parks in the early mornings til noon. Personaly 5.00 euros cuts a lot of hassel.

yeah. the fine is called "you're an asshole" for invading on someone else's property.

yogibear thx though i knew those places allready and i was staying at zeeburg for 3weels last year but i still think it sucks paying 5-8e(depending on season and how many people there are in 1 tent) for using your own tent.. id rather use that 200-300euros for something else..

bongish its a free country right? i am not destroying anything i am just sleeping there and then ill be gone in the morning ofcourse i understand many people probably dont like that but i was asking if anyone knows how the dutch police think about people camping on someone else's property.

    lol. right wing...mwaaaaahahahah...

<<I believe no man can own land.. mr right wing>>

if you're such a pompus ass, why the fuck did you come here and ask what the fine would be??

I (nor does any law abiding citizen, mr. douchebag) don't really give a shit what you "believe". If you break the law, you break the law. No one gives a shit whether you agree with the law, dipshit.

If you owned anything in your life, you'd respect the rights of others---my guess is that you live in a trash can, Oscar.

okay... man i am sorry if i hurt your feelings or something i dont want to argue i am just interested if there are any big outdoor areas in "ranstad" aka ringcity

where one could easily camp on one's own permisson.

i do not want to argue about the principal but surely you dont think that just putting up a tent on an empty spot is much of a crime.

1- you didn't hurt me in (let me guarantee you) ANY way. cool.

I personally don't care where you erect your tent, but on another's property (which you have clearly stated does not exist, for "no one can own land") wouldn't be cool. If you put a tent on an "empty" spot, surely the government "owns" it and you'd be subject to whatever the police can/will do. Probably just kick you off and tell you not to do it again. Or, maybe, they can arrest you for vagrancy. They would surely do that in some places in the U.S.

I sincerely wish you luck, with your attitude and common misunderstanding of the law and of others' political views, you will surely need it.

What is the per day cost at Zeeburg. They say 5E for tent does this include 1 person or are they hitting you for another 5E for yourself?

People look at things differently over here to how it is in the states.

Firstly, the land belongs to the people of a country and not one person.

In europe you would never be arrested for 'vagrancy' for camping on public land, maybe asked to move on though.

And in the UK (I don't know about elsewhere in europe) if you camp on someone else's property the only way they can legally remove you is through a civil court which can take months, you can camp wherever you want! The way it should be, if you clean up and leave no trace what's the problem? Every human should be entitled to rest without having to pay for it, no?
