After this year is over, we will all need therapy.

    I don't agree...

A therapist is like a sitter.
If you don't wanna follow his/her advice, you simply don't have to. You're not obliged to change the patterns of your life, when consulting a shrink. It's all up to you. S/he just advice you...
Why being so afraid listening to the opinion of someone else, who even has the expertise on the psychological field?
Is it because you're afraid that he's / she's able to look through your shelter? Are you afraid that s/he is actually able to read you - and to look right through the surface that you desperately keep up to hide your inner worries, that are filling you with unnecessary shame?

    love and understanding,
    -wolf- :)
