Hey, sorry if there is already a thread around here about it, or if I'm posting in the wrong section or anything like that, but do you guys know any good meditation techniques?

I like to try to meditate on good vibes, think about forests, nature, etc, But it seems now If I'm not meditating every ten minutes I'm getting angry really easily. Anybody got any idea why? I really want to get over all this negativity.

I almost punched my own older brother right now, it's really taking over my life.

So, anyway, you guys have any tips for better meditation? Maybe just some ways to keep anger down?

    Thanks guys.

my friend let me give you a quick course of meditation.
its just a state of mind. its a trans state and it works the same way as hypnosis.
meditation is kind of self hypnosis.
there is no method which guarantees trans state each time you do it. you ll have to find out wich one sutes you.
if you wanna just to relax i would sugest (if u like music) put on some music [the one that calms you down (i myself meditate with irish folk and celtic/new age)] lie down on bed with lights out. try to relax by thinking bout good things that happened to you or you can imagine like you sad nature forests etc.
to master it needs time. pratice it and youll be abble to achie much more than relaxing. itll improve the way you behave to other and eaven calm you down. of course thats up to you.
what i am trying to say, just relax, or try everything you find relaxing and try to sabstitute that anger with love.

    i hope i was helpful
    cheers

    Hey thanks!

By the way, I love Celtic too. The Brodingangian Bards and Ed Miller are my favorite things to listen to.

I would suggest doing your own thing. I do not believe in global meditation alternatives. Sure, every person can sit down... "moooo" their way through and read sutras, but... every person has their own relaxation technique.

For me... I take a walk, play some music, read a book, take a bath, look at ants, watch waves, and so on. Those things work for me.

Go out and experience with everyday meditative things that work for you.

Medditation is a very personal thing that changes from person to person, you just have to learn to get the feel for what is right for yourself, TIP: you can try to center all of your attention on a certain object such as a flame or a piece of art...

i would argue meditation is not a trance state; that is more of guided imagery or relaxation. like bushsucks said meditation is very personal. i would suggest starting with with some deep breaths; don't try to control the breath. just let your breath come naturally and count on the inhale & exhale up to 10. repeat. this should help calm the mind. (peace)

so what did budha do? relaxing under the tree? no mate, its a trance state.
eaven the relaxation tecnique that is the lowes form of meditation is a trance state (although the low level).
at the end of the day thats what meditation is all about.
and yeah you can achive this by other methods like relaxing with music, aroma therapy etc(whatever works for you).
the meditation is an art that someone needs to master and its hard one.
just do what you think is the best
