I'm a real sugar and fatty food addict. I don't need to lose weight but I still hate the way bad food makes me feel. But I LOVE the taste! Anyone got any suggestions for how to ward off cravings for food that is so bad for you yet just tastes so nice??
sugar - maybe dried fruit? Personally speaking it fixes that sugar craving fast but doesn't make me feel as gross, it gives a longer lasting energy boost and you need less of it than you would of plain sugar. It's not the most healthy food ever but it's probably better than some of the more processed sugary stuff.
Everytime I feel like something sweet but don't wanna regret it, I make some fruity tea.. it always helps me. =) And I loooove sweets.
I've become a big Splenda fanatic. I can super-sweeten anything with it and not feel bad. Fatty foods are harder. But for sugary stuff... like, I could make a yogurt-fruit smoothie, add some splendas, and it's way sweet. Or make my coffee as sweet as coffee ice cream
I'm pretty sure splenda=aspartame, which is a close chemical relative of formaldehyde and if you do certain things to it, I think it actually becomes formaldehyde. Nothin wrong with fat if its the right Fat. Nuts and seeds, olive, olives oil, avocado and dark chocolate, etc. my friend Narz's forum might be good for supporting you in your healthier eating habits : http://www.rawlovers.com
Nooooo, splenda is not aspartame. There are three artificial sweeteners: Aspartame: Nutrasweet/Equal Saccharin: Sweet N' Low Sucralose: Splenda It's a very different compound--essentially, a sucrose (table-sugar) molecule altered so that you don't break it down, it just passes through. Pretty nifty.
Idk, I'll stick with my organic agave nectar and raw honey, lol.. I haven't had a sugar high/mood swing since I bought some organic pumpkin pie mix and ate like 4 servings of it in a recipe, when it was 20G's of sugar a serving...I didn't read the label until after I ate it. I learned my lesson and stuck to my live food sources of carb's, lol.... I eat lots of organic cinnamon and raw cacao too, which are both excellent for stabilizing blood sugar and curing mood disorders, which can often be caused by blood sugar imbalances....
Splenda is weird to me, its chemicals and not natural, but its up to the individual if they want to put that in their body or not. And if it works for you, then cool. I personally don't feel okay putting that in my body. I agree with Avocado in that good fats are good for you always! Or course if you eat too much of them thats not good but they are doing good things for you, much better than other fatty things.
dank smoothie recipe: coconut milk, or coconut water and meat from a fresh coconut cacao beans real vanilla raw honey (raw honey is really the shit!) ^ be careful! you might fall in love! optionally you can add some mint real maple syrup is pretty awesome too, delicious on way more than just pancakes. try it in your tea or on homemade icecream or on cereal with milk. heat it up and pour it on snow to make little candies! stevia is an herb worth looking into, its 100 times sweeter than sugar. you can cook with it, use it in tea, and best of all it grows like a weed! you can also buy it powdered or tinctured in health food stores. avocado is a good fatty food. you can slap them on pretty much any sammich, and you can make soups with them. hell, you can eat them with a spoon if ya add a little salt and lime. and guacafuckinmole! again, coconut milk is good and fatty. you can use it to make delicious creamy curry sauce, and put them in a smoothie. and coconut oil makes awesome pie crust! just blend it with flour until the chunks are smaller than peas and then add ice water sparingly until it forms dough. you can fill it with berries and cinnamin, maybe a little honey, and youll have a great pie. im a sugar and fat fiend too, and bad food makes me into a psycho bitch. even when im homeless or on the road, i try to get good food so my friends dont face my wrath. when i do have a place with a kitchen, i find that taking time to prepare food that is delicious and good for me, keeps me from scarfing a ton of ben and jerrys. man maybe i should start a cooking show.
