I still have maybe a 100 or so comics stached away...drag 'em out and read 'em every once in a while...Keep on Truckin Bro, the good times keep gettin'better as time rolls on.

Crumb's Whiteman meets Bigfoot was one of my favorites.

Great stuff, wish there was a similar sort of thing still goin' but most comics now seem to be blood and guts super hero stuff

Recently, my two oldest brothers left this flesh world, both within 40 days of each other. I'd have to say of all the things I miss about the 60s, it would be them. I remember when my parents were starting to get paranoid about the drug scene, ( with good reasons I might add ), and my middle brother came home from a trip to Mexico with a big rock of Allum in his pocket to help keep him from sweating while he was hitching all over. My parents through a hissy fit thinking it was crystal meth. Another time, I was brewing a pot of coffee in my bedroom and they came running up the steps accusing us of smoking a bong. For being so much older than us they were pretty street smart but at all the wrong times. Still those memories are fresh in my mind as though they just recently happened. Funny times when we all burst out in laughter over the controversial issues of the hippiest days of old.

Richard Corben...the magazine Heavy Metal maybe? Yeah good stuff but my heart really was in the plain old crazy nonsense of the underground comics...The Checkered Demon Visits Venus with his Penis, Fat Freddies Cat eating all their Hash Brownies, Wonder Warthog eating his food stamps and complaining of the taste. Great times and high foolishness, a wonderfully squandered childhood and it continues to this day.

Ol' Crumb had a weird thing for big dominating women too...not to mention his thing with Nuns...I'll bet that crazy bastard was a riot when he was a kid growin' up.

What about that toy(?) called the clacker ?

Two balls made out of a hard non shatter proof material connected together
with a piece of nylon cord.

The object was by holding the cord midways and moving your arm in a
up and down motion thus making the balls 'clack' into each other.

Unsafe toy taken off the market.

A Robert Crumb fan you sound like. Have you heard his jug band music?
2 albums were produced, " R. Crumb and the cheap suit serenader's".
The first was "Singing in the bathtub" and 2nd was "Chasin' Rainbows".

The movie "Crumb" , which I believe won some film award, gives you a look into the Crumb family, with many interviews with his mom and two brothers, his one sister refused to be interviewed ( cant say I blame the woman ). Seeing his background you wonder how Robert turned out to be as normal as he is. To be blunt, his family is "Fucking nuts".
Got to spend some time with Robert, his first wife Dana and their son Jessie, when they lived on the Eel River in Mendocino County, Calif.
Dana still lives in the old house as where Robert remarried has a young daughter and now lives in France.
Dana is known for being a great cook and has published at least 2 cook books,
The first one was titled "Eat it!" and was illustrated by Robert and has become a collectors item.
Just a little Crumb trivia...from someone who knew him way back when.
