This is the best show on television and I can't recommend it highly enough. It's a programme about television, which doesn't sound very promising I know, but it's intelligent, perceptive, well informed and often incredibly funny. Very hard to describe... in the first of the new series Brooker spent a good while talking about the film "Network" and explaining why television is almost entirely just really crap and why you should watch less of it... this is a real gem. Victor Lewis-Smith and Chris Morris are reference points for the kind of intelligent media-savvy comedy this is. Currently showing on BBC4 at apparently random days and times - Monday 10pm, Thursday 11.50pm but well worth tracking down. You can watch at least one complete episode of the last series on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=screenwipe&search=Search
It is pretty funny, loved his rubbishing of that awfully annoying Frosties advert. They're gonna taste great, they're gonna taste great, Frosties on my plate... "No you twat, since when do you eat cereal off a plate?"
"They're gonna taste great, they're gonna taste great, even when you have cancer of the prostate..." New series on BBC4 starts tonight http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00fpwb4
Charlie Brooker is my hero, and it's stuff like his show that needs to be shown on one of the main channels on Saturday evenings.
