    I like S.E. Hinton.
I've only read The Outsiders and Rumble Fish so far, though. They're both excellent.

Several years ago I read all of them that I could find. I really liked them at the time and read and reread several of them. I don't know if I'd still like them--it's been years, but I think I still would. I remember my favorite was Taming the Star Runner.

I read her stuff 25 to 30 years ago. I liked it for what it was, YA fiction. However, I think the settings and plots are a bit dated now.

I loved HInton when I was a teen. I also loved Paul Zindel's books. Most of his are out of print now, so you have to rummage through used book stores and yard sales to find them. I still read mostly YA and kid's books. It goes with my job.

I enjoyed reading "The Outsiders." Initially I had to get used to the idea of greasers as unoffending victims of physical aggression by the sons of upper middle class parents. I remembered that the greasers were bad boys when I was in high school. When I gave it more thought, however, I remembered that the boys who picked on me were the sons of upper middle class parents. The greasers left me alone.

I remember reading The Outsiders in school, it was probably the one book I liked that I had to read for school, usually I hate them until I read them about a year later on my own will lol I liked that was then and this is now and rumble fish, liked them both a lot, but I didn't like Tex that much, didn't hate it or anything I just didn't like it that much.

I remember my teacher didn't mention it was a girl who wrote it until after we read it, she said she didn't tell us because she didn't want it to cloud our judgment because a lot of people don't take female writers seriously which might be why she just has S. E instead of her name and you honestly can't even tell, she's that good of a writer.
