That's one of the reasons the Bible gave strong warnings about graven images. "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image." God tells His people they are to bow down to Him only, and nothing that is made by the hands of man. True evil can use such images to mislead people away from God. Freaky, yes especially when you know who's behind the image and pulling the strings.
Those who reject the truth will worship images of stone that neither speak nor hear, and the God of the Bible tells us, that the lost will worship the creation, rather than the Creator.
If you were home asleep and your house was on fire, would you have me respect your privacy by allowing you to sleep and burn? Or should I break down the door and wake you up? I have had an encounter with the living God. I know who God is. And I don't believe anyone who really know's God, should respect someone so much, that they should allow them to believe a lie and burn in Hell.
There may not be one correct religion but there is only one true God, and that true God does not embrace religions that all counterdict each other. And this is because God is not the author of confusion. And there is only one Book that has prophecies that speak accurately of the future, and that Book is the Bible. The Bible tells us that just before Christ returns to this world, He will allow the Jewish people to return to the land of Israel. The Bible tells us that when they return they will take southern Israel first. (They did in 1948) Then the Bible tells us they will recapture Jerusalem second. (They did in 1967) Then the Bible tells us when the Jews retake the land they will be surrounded by enemies. (They are). The Bible also tells us that Jerusalems East Gate will be sealed, and God will not allow anyone to open the Gate until He returns to Jerusalem and opens it Himself. (The Gate is sealed today just as the Bible said it would be) The Bible also tells us that all attempts to open the Gate would fail. (Two attempts to break through the Gate have both failed just as the Bible said they would). Jesus Christ fulfilled the 300 prophecies of the Old Testament. The world has many religions, yet there is only one Book out there that speaks the truth, and has the prophecy to back it up. If you can show me another Book that has greater truth than the Bible, then I will respect it. Until then, I will not respect any religion that will lead people to Hell.
Please forgive me, I'm just use to so many attacking us Christians on the Christian forum. Yet not once have I ever told anyone of them I would try to get them banned. I believe in freedom of speech, and I mistakenly thought that's what everyone else believed. If I was truly intollerant, I would threaten those who came with different views to the Christian fourm with expulsion. If you ever want to discuss your belief, please come to the Christian fourm, we accept everyone there, and we won't threaten you with expulsion. And the reason for this, is because Christians are not intollerant.
Freedom of Speech on this forum does not include intollerance ... SOME Christians are not intollerant ... you, on the other hand ... Are! HTML: HTML: HTML:
Campbell may be intolerant in a personal sense; that is, for himself he doesn't tolerate any belief other than what he holds, and doesn't seem to understand why someone else would think differently. However, in a broader sense, he's very tolerant...he'll indeed discuss anything with anyone, and as he said, treats the Christianity forum as open to all rather than a believers-only in-group. I consider transmigration of the soul (reincarnation), to be an absolute and universal truth, and Campbell thinks it's something the devil planted in my head, but this doesn't keep us from talking or cause him to report me to the mods.
While that's a valid point, his intolerance relative to religios belief is what matters on these forums.
True, to a point. When he has been asked twice to stop propagating his intollerance in one forum and has refused, then action must be taken to ensure his intollerance is placed where it is acceptable ... thus, I moved his posts here in the most acceptable place on the forums to display Christian intollerance for other's beliefs. Not saying that all Christians are intollerant, but some are, and since this intollerance is directed at individuals in the Buddhism forum from the view point and perspective of a Christian in relation to Christian views versus Buddhist views ... then ... well ... here it is ... He can be as intollerant to other religions all he wants here in the Christian forum. Not in the other forums, and especially not when he's been asked to stop. HTML: HTML: HTML:
Well I don't recall personally attacking anyone in your fourm, I do believe you have demonstrated true intollerance, for here in the Christian forum everyone is invited to express their belief. Many times I have been personally attacked, and not once did I ever consider having a person banned. And here you can exprees your intollerance as well, to bad you don't believe in freedom of speech in your fourm. Remember, if ever want to express your belief, you will have to come to the Christian side in order to do so freely.
Debating is a way of learning (I know I have learned a lot of what I and others believe from debating on here). Both you and Campbell COULD have learned from each other. Instead you said "No" and kept a closed mind.
If you and Campbell indeed had open minds and weren't merely trolling for converts you'd have a point.
Either you lack necessary reading skills, or you just simply wasn't paying attention. Go back and re-read what I posted. There was no debating going on ... perhaps you should go back and read again also! HTML: HTML: HTML:
Well Posthumous, your just lucky your on the Christian forum, because if you were in the Buddhism forum and talked to them like you talk to the Christians here, they would of kicked you out a long time ago.
Nope cause there are no Buddhist fundamentalist fanatics who feel the need to constantly impose their faith on others not unlike annoying door-to-door insurance salesmen. Save yourself first. If it turns out your path is truth, we'll all be along eventually, but attempts to drag others down your road is tantamount to evil and will only gain you enemies.
There was no debating going on. You got that right, it's your way or the highway. And again, it could of been a time to challenged any statement I had made, and it could of been a quest for the truth, but instead, you took the easy way out. Rather than stand your ground on principals of your belief, you called on the powers that be to usher me out. And that is why I love the Christian faith, because as Christians we believe in a free exchange of ideas, we never run from a challenge, nor do we imbrace censorship to silence our opponents.
