    Hi Guys,

Im 7 weeks and 4days pregnant and had some light brown discharge when i wiped myself earler, also been to loo again and had some brown discharge in knickers (sorry for in depth details!). I've had no pain since very early and that was just now and again.

Im extremely worried about this, its my first pregnancy.

I've rang my out of hours doc and I am waiting for them to get back to me, has anyone got any advice or simular storys? Will I be able to get an earlier scan for my peace of mind as i dont want to be stressed and worried.

    PLEASE HELP!

It's pretty normal to have some spotting early in pregnancy. I had some similar when I was about 2 months along and now I am 33 weeks along and everything has been just fine. I've read that implantation or formation of the placenta can cause some light spotting early in pregnancy. You are probably fine, but if spotting persists and gets heavy and you also feel painful cramping (more than the usual period cramps) then you will probably want to see the doctor.

It's different for everyone and every pregnancy as well! I know of many women who had normal periods throughout pregnancy. (That's why mom didn't know about me, until she was almost 5 months along hehe) I've been pregnant twice. The first time I had no spotting, bleeding, anything. The second time I had regular periods. It varies. Just take extra care.

I've spoken to MW and she has booked me in on Saturday for an early pregnancy scan.

Really worried but excited too, just hoping and preying that everything is ok!

aw, what a fright. i hope it turns out okay. i had to be admitted early on in my first pregnancy and got put on bedrest for the remainder of my pregnancy, but that was primarily for preeclampsia. but my babies are here and they're perfect.

Happy chick, I wish you the best of luck! Hopefully things will be fine for you...I've known of many women who said they had bleeding during their pregnancies and gone on to give birth to happy, healthy babies.

Many hugs, take it easy, and let us know how you are...

I had brown bleeding for weeks during my first trimester. Sometimes a lot of it. The docs always told me not to worry because it was brown and not red, but they still called it a threatened miscarriage. It was pretty scary for a while, especially since we couldn't find his heartbeat with the Doppler. I felt much better when I got an ultrasound and saw his heart beating. He's 2 now, 100% healthy, and a bundle of fun!

Its bad news, there was a sac but they couldnt see a baby. They have done blood tests and my hormone levels are falling meaning im miscarrying. I have to let nature run its course and go back in 2 weeks for a scan.

Im devestated but trying to stay positive.

{{{hugs}}}, happy_chick! I'm so sorry you're going through this. Stay strong, sister - mourn your loss, it's all right to be devastated for right now. It's a very hard thing you're going through. As you said, though, try to stay positive when you can. Just know you'll have your little one someday! :)

I'm really, really sorry happy chick. If you need to talk, you can PM me anytime. I've lost two babies myself, but I also have three healthy little ones here with me now.

I don't know if you would be interested or not, but there are a lot of pregnancy after loss websites out there that can be of comfort, espeically if you're planning on trying to conceive again. I joined one after one of my miscarriages, and met some really wonderful women through there who understood exactly what I was going through, and were there along the way when I became pregnant again. It can help.

Anyway, my thought are with you...I know there are no words to take away your pain, but just know that there are a lot of people who care.

Thanks hippychickmommy, I have found a great forum that specialises in misscarriage and loss and have found it a great help.

I ended up in A&E last night again, seems like a never ending nightmare - I wont bore you with the details! x

I ended up at A&E last night again (Mon) as I was bleeding very very heavy and in severe pain to the point where i couldnt walk. I was very dizzy (due to loosing lots of blood) and feeling very sick! They put me on a drip and took some blood from me and by the time the results were back the bleeding had eased off and i was feelin a little better - The doctor was happy for me to go home as he felt that there wasnt anything that they could do in hospital that I couldnt do at home and I would be more comfortable at home. I just have to drink plenty of fluids, keep up with pain relief and of course take it easy.

I passed alot of large clots last night (sorry if tmi) which i found very traumatic but im hoping im nearing the end now. I just want it over with to be honest as I feel as though my life is on hold at the moment, I feel I need to get through the physical side first then I can deal with the emotional side and begin to move on. I have a feeling its all going to hit me at once and im not looking forward to it as i seem to be in shock at the mo.

    xxx

It sounds to me like it is probably over, physically at least. When I had my second miscarriage, it was very early on in the pregnancy. Anyway, it started with some spotting but it was really dark red, it seemed like I was starting a period with cramping and everything, but not a lot of bleeding at that point. I went in to see my OB, they did an ultrasound and confirmed that my little one had no heart beat and I was in the process of miscarrying, although it hadn't actually happened yet. My HCG levels were very low. My OB sent me home and told me to come back at the end up the week for another check-up to be sure that my body had taken care of things naturally, and if not, he was going to do a D&C. Within about two days, the bleeding became really heavy and I was passing large clots as well, and I had really, really bad cramping. So I just *knew* it was finally happening for real. I went in at the end of the week for labwork, and the results confirmed a level of zero HCG, which meant my body did indeed take care of things on it's own.
