Does anyone have any good techniques other than the obvious of smoking weed, and getting the smell out? I was wondering if opening a window is necessary.

To get rid of it, a window is necessary yes, or lots of time. I can get rid of the smell with 20 minutes of windows open and a fan blowing out.

As for covering up the smell, some people in here will be able to help you with that I reckon.

I actually used air freshener one time I was desperate and it seemed to mask the smell.

when i smoke in my dorm room i make smoke a boel, i make sure i put out the bowl with the but end of the lighter after my hit so no smoke rises into the air and then i exhale my hit through a toilet paper roll packed with dryer sheets into a fan thats pointing out the window, when its done right there very little smell and the smell that is there is pretty easily covered up by some oust

    Couple things.

First know this, the scent of an air freshener will probably be a rather big tip as in.

    *knock knock knock*

    "Just a second!"

if you answer the door and the room smells like airfreshener, obviously someone will know shits up. HOWEVER, duely follow this:

    1) Open window
    2) Put towel or something at the crack of your door
    3) Light scented candles/light incense
    4) Spray Airfreshener
    5) make sure to have hand lotion or something, if you're smoking joints, res will be on your fingers.
    6) Visine
    7) Your clothes, spray em or change em
    8) sploof i suppose if you so desire.

    that covers things.

ps opening a window beats everything x 10. leaning out a window = best choice if you're ubber paranoid.

i cant burn incense in my room it would set off the smoke alarm, and i spray air freshener all the time to cover up the smell from my microwave when i make food so its not strange and i do put a towel under my door and change my clothes

incence and air freshener=shady, especially incence(raises multiple red flags) so candles are nice ones. they cover the weed smell and the smell isnt overpowering so thats the best bet. the biggest thing is open windows always have an open window

well thanks for the tip, right now i just blow it out the window. But if the parents come up and see the window open they will know something is up. As far as the blowing the smoke into something, that is kinda risky. For one thats a long process, and for another where would you put a big bag that wreaks of pot? Winter season is over though i'm thinking about growing some. I actually got a plant to sprout with seeds from baggies. I'm going to try that again just for kicks.

you throw the sploof outside, and believe me, it works dude. like magic. if made properly. i usually drop tastey puff on the sheets too.

thats another thing, this is personal expierence man :

    tastypuff saves.

So im at a party and this dudes parents are upstairs (yeah a party and his folks were upstairs, didnt know we were drinking or smoking and there was like 15 of us hah)

SO my buddy and i grab like 7 guys and hotbox the fuck out of his bathroom (window open) went through 10 bowls and on every bowl we put on cherry tasty puff. His mom came down, or someone i dont remember who and said it smelt like candy down there. they didnt know we were getting baked.

    make a bounty bomb.

get a 20oz. plastic bottle and poke holes in it. then stuff a bunch of bounty dryer sheets in it. blow your hit through the bottle and it masks the smell.
