ive heard stories about how good this stuff is and Ive only heard it from veterans and soliders in the seventies. Is this still around and given out by a breeder?

Brazilian seed company is working on getting it out, but besides for that I think you're out of luck.

    It's an heirloom strain...

And finding it can be like waiting to get hit by lightning.

    No.

I just said, it's an heirloom strain.... as in Colombian Gold, etc.

    Hard to come by.

"Back in the days", Panama Red was about as good as anything you could get your hands on; except for Thai Sticks (w-o-a-h!). Good Panama Red was right up there with Acapulco Gold and Maui Wowie. In retrospect; I'd say that it was probably just processed and shipped using better methods, thereby preserving it's potency.

"Homegrown" weed was mostly third class quality (junk) at that time, what you would call Schwag today. This was about the time that some domestic growers in the U.S. had started to use more advanced techniques, and turned out some really good Sensimella. But it was really expensive ($100/oz.) - if you could find it!

These days there are so many good strains to choose from - it boggles the mind!!!

In L.A., when I started smoking weed backj in '67, just about all that was around was Acapulco Gold ($10/oz.) for about a year. Then there was a lot of Panama Red (there's even a song about it called Panama Red) competeing with AG.
Sadly, both almost completely disappeared in the late 60's/early 70's.
I suppose that in Panama and Acapulco the strains still exist, on local consumption farms. But commercial growers found it mush easier to grow schwag.
