god this is frustrating... my mouth tastes like blood and I'm not sure I want to irritate my mouth (two wisdom teeth pulled on one side yesterday) yet my stomach is growing for something other than my own blood (tmi?)

Maybe I'll throw gauze into the one side of my mouth again and have soup or something. Gaaaaah this is so frustrating!

Yeah, I went through the same thing and I really hate that feeling. So annoying.

I had a lot of fruit smoothies. That is, I did after I stopped throwing up from the vicodin.

I have no vicodin, just gonna take lots of ibuprofen
and no fruit to make smoothies with really. I have some oranges but that's about it.

Is putting a pad into the mouth while it's still bleeding to eat the best idea? Or did you stop bleeding before you got hungry?

get thee to a mcdonald's for a milk shake. it's cool, without being too cold, and it'll settle your stomach better than kaopectate and give it a good full feeling. i SWEAR. it's also good for hangovers.

lactose intolerant and I'm not allowed to suck on anything ie use a straw. Also McD's is too far away from me to bother with, I think the nearest is 20min by bus.

    and I'm broke.
But maybe I could get my butt over to a Booster Juice later this evenin... they sell fruit smoothies there for too much money but they are delicious.

yeah, smoothies saved me. I couldn't really have anything else since I also can't eat dairy, so no milkshakes. I have to admit that I just ate even thought it was still bleeding. I just tried not to think about it.

there's no milk in mcd's shakes. it's mostly kaolin filler. very good for bad bellies.

I find it oh so disturbing that there is no milk in it. I remember back in the day when I didn't realize how evil McDonalds is, I got a shake there and it never melted.

meh. it's just a little clay. i've never yet found anything that made my belly feel better faster than a small vanilla mcshake.

that's... mildly disturbing. Milk shake sans milk. But hey, I guess it means I could consume it.

I asked my wonderful mom to pick up a fruit smoothie thing on her way home for me because she is the most wonderfulest person on the planet. And I called my dentist to see how long my mouth is supposed to taste like blood (been just over 24 hours) and apparently up to about 48 hours is totally normal for the blood clotting to form. After I get my smoothie I'm gonna put a teabag on it and see how that works, he said something about the tannic stuff (I think it was tannic at least) helps promote clotting... but I need to let it sit for some 45 min and my smoothie should be here in about 20 min <3

Maybe I had an extra chemically shake then. Because the part I didn't eat sat in a car in the summer for hours and didn't melt.

Teabags totally worked! It is what I used after my wounds opened from vomitting and it stopped the bleeding right away.

Lucky, aiee. I may reschedule my second round, depending on how expensive this first part was. Til the end of summer or early into September so the new dental/health plan renews (they only cover up to a few hundred in dental work per year) and when I'll have a job to pay off the remainder as well. The right side has never given me troubles so I think it can wait a few months (ok like half a year) for me to be able to afford it.

But, yeah... I was starting to get an infection again on the side that he yanked from - I was actually having an infection when I first called him for an appointment, but used enough mouthwash that it went away by the time I saw him.

Why haven't you gotten yours out?

kaolin is just clay. it's what they put in kaopectate. it's one of nature's best cures for queasy and runny bellies. long been used by naturalist healers. when i was little some of the moms (african and island descent) would keep some around, but it didn't taste nearly as good.

I don't have dental insurance and haven't for probably 10 years

my g/f works at a university hospital and is looking into having a dental student take mine out for cheap....

I am too cheap to pay 2,000 to have it done, even if i have the money for it

Yeah, I got mine out a couple of years ago just because my insurance was about to run out and so I just tried to get all doctors things done at once.

well, I'm not hungry but the constant taste of old blood in my mouth is pretty fucking disgusting and is still making me nauseous

sucks about the insurance though... that's why I wanna wait til september for my next set, let the insurance reset itself for the year (there's a cap per year on how much they'll cover)
