dave dragged me up here to spend some quality time with him, since he's travelling all month. but really, i'm here to cook for him and cj. dave likes to show off my cooking, so i'm really pulling out all the stops. made a killer beef stew last night, HUGE chunks of veggies cooked to perfection, huge chunks of beef, too. it's kinda expensive, when you go the organic route on the meat, though. which is why we don't get to eat it often anymore. but seriously, there's nothing else to do here with the girls. it's too fucking windy out there to go outside. the baby can't breathe when the wind blows, and kai thinks she's going to be blown away by the wind. *sigh* besides, it's really ugly out there.
all i have is fat tire. crying shame. i wish i had a camera, so i could show y'all how ugly and depressing it is out there. i'll keep myself occupied with cooking and practing letters with kai. oh yeah! i forgot i got her a math workbook. she's missing school this week, including gymnastics and dance. we'll have to figure something out.
so is this in the flat plains part of wyoming? I remember driving through cheyenne and being stunned by how depressing it was there. I stopped at a convenience store, and there was this dirty disheveled man telling his little girl that they could not afford a hostess snack cake I resumed driving
eek. i've had to say the same sorta thing to kai many a time. it's not bad, kids understanding what it is to not have frivolous spending money. kai's very well grounded thus far. still, the people here have been very nice. pleasant and friendly, even.
