thats the shit man. i've never spent 5 hundo but my friends and i often do spend well over 100 sometimes 200 on food. i love getting ripped before hand and ordering sooo much stuff and watching the staff get all nervous about it. then we pay in cash with a huge tip and walk out. props on that though

    That's ridiculous, man.

I didn't know sushi could be so damn expensive.

But... 80 something dollars for California Rolls and whatnot. Good god, man.

What's the weed wrap made of, goldleaf?

homemade shit is where it's at too if you get the right ingrediants and have the know how

me and my buddies frequent this resturant quite a bit, but usually only for tea + a couple rolls, we went all out that day lol

also keep in mind, vancouver is considered by many to have the best sushi in north america, so u are definatly paying for quality at alot of the places

I've only had Japanese at a couple places... there's one nearby that gives the volunteer fire dept. free food when they're on duty/in uniform, but not the cops. :D I tend to like that place... I like to just order a stir fry and miso every now and then. Cheaper than sushi, but I eat sushi when I'm with people.

The people who work there are interesting. The thing I notice is they're not always related like Chinese restaurants, but that's a whole nother ballgame.

Most sushi I've had has had good intention, but was made with total shit-supplies, though... But theirs is pretty beast. Probably nothing compared to any West Coast sushi.

I almost ate sushi once, but I smelled it right before I was going to put it in my mouth and decided against it. This was at a cheap chinese buffet restaurant not far from my house that got shut down for serving cat. I'm not a big chinese food fan anyway.

yea living in the midwest and even east coast i think it's hard to get really fresh atlantic crab and prawns etc. for sushi

thats why i kinda question places like Red lobster etc in like the midwest who claim to have "fresh" seafood, like how the fuck can it be even reasonably fresh, u havent got an ocean within 3000km's of you lol

since when is sushi chinese? haha.....must be smoking some pot :p

though some "chinese" places will serve japanese or thai dishes, too.

i like sushi, but i have to be in the mood. some i really dig, but some (mostly stuff using a lot of the innards) is just a bit too much for me. but as has been noted, living in the midwest its hard to get really good sushi (though some upscale places do offer some pretty decent stuff...i dont know how they get it "fresh" but it seems pretty damn fresh...a far cry from red lobster)

i like fish a lot...earlier today this really freaking cute girl came into my shop and ordered a lot of drinks to take to coworkers....shes helping to open a somewhat higher end seafood restaraunt/bar down the street....apparently, according to her, they have good fish AND good martinis....i should check that out sometime when i've got some money....it will be a nice break from fast food, mexican and home cooking...dont get me wrong i'm a pretty decent cook and absolutely love to cook, but sometimes you just need to go to a nice restaraunt :)
