Just curious as to what people are majoring in and why sooo What's you major and why'd you choose it as your major?
Not at uni yet, I am off either this year or next depending on how I feel. I have applied to major in Japanese with East Asian Studies because ever since I was a small Naynay I have been interested in Japanese culture. I then went to live in Japan and learnt basic Japanese pretty quickly. So I want to extend my knowledge and actually get to know the language as if it were my own and then go and do good things out in Japan.
university of south alabama: a major in english. with a concentration in creative writing. then a minor in philosophy. so i can save the world. with creative philosophy.
I just finished a degree in Film/Media Studies and Philosophy and now am about to start Masters in Film and Media. Why? Because...i'm a geek.
Elementary/Special Education are my majors. I want to be a teacher because I think it is neat to be able to help create future members of society. Plus, I want to help change education in the USA because it is absolutely horrible. Yes, I understand I have to meet standards, but I can reach these in a totally different method of teaching. Eventually I will get my masters degree in Educational Psychology. I will test students and diagnose cognative disorders or special abilities. Any other education majors here?
Special Ed is fabulous stuff. Very challenging, but so cool in so many ways. Potentially more hands-on with students, more problem-solving to figure out how to address certain students' issues, and definitely a lot of opportunity to help build students' confidence. I loved taking Ed Psych as well. Granted I only took one course as part of my program, but it was a great class. I enjoyed it a lot.
