Ok I noticed that it says "view detailed info about the people who visit your page". WHAT EXACTLY is the kind of detailed info they can view? Can they see where your computer is located and what your real name is even if you have an alias on myspace?
You have to be careful with the MySpace trackers because some of them are viruses/spyware. I use Trakzor on my page, which is one of the more reliable ones out there. The only thing these trackers do is tell the location of where the person is that has visited your profile (city, state), unless they are visiting the profile of a person who has the same tracker... then it will give you their profile name and a link to their MySpace profile. There is nothing to worry about as far as personal information being released. They cannot get your real name, unless you use your real name in your profile. They cannot even see your profile name unless you are logged on to your MySpace account when you visit a page using the same tracker.
I heard that they can tell the name of the person that the computer is "registered" to and the exact address of that computer location.....is that true? (this myspace page has a fake city and state). I'm not smart when it comes to this stuff. Thanks Rat
I have never heard of a tracker that reveals who the computer is registered to or the exact address of the person's location. I don't even think that's legal. If you're worried about this, just use the tracker I use: http://www.trakzor.com/
There is a spyware virus being realesed for parents to whatch what their kids do on myspace. Invasion of privcy really. Thank god for linux!
I would suggest viewing the following link which illustrates the folly of attempting to use tracking software on myspace, which is a clear violation of their "terms of use". This link originates from the associated press and is very informative of the consequences violating a website's rules, especially for the creators of tracking software. http://www.kcby.com/news/tech/6103521.html
Best idea is to use your dads details when you sign up to anything - then you can imagine how wrong the profile will be - 60 year old dude into Goth music - punk - and skateboarding. Likes Barelylegalteens and probably jacks off to the sight of cheerleaders having their knee bandaged. Man how wrong will those cops be when they turn up at your place
