Hey, I'm Tom and got my hair dreaded just over 2 weeks ago in Manchester, UK. At first they looked great, but now im getting slightly worried about them. They don't seem to be doing anything. I don't want to have wasted my money and want them to start looking better! The woman who did them told me not to do anything to them for 6 weeks apart from roll them. I still havent washed them, which was disgusting at first but now they feel fine. I go back in just less than 4 weeks to have my free dread tidy up but i'm worried they may fall apart before then! What can i do? Any help please!

    Cheers....

just leave them alone! All you have to do is be patient and they will do their thing in time. All I would recomend at this point is to wear a hat to bed...

If they didn't use wax, you'll be fine. I backcombed mine myself, and washed after two weeks, they came undone a little but got better with each wash.

Tom, just thought. whereabouts in manchester did u get em done? Im from Manchester, and I know a great girl who does em without wax.... she's called Grace and has a salon on oxford road. Ring a bell? Id really recommend her, and she doesnt sell you crap if you dont need it.

Did you take the bands out of your hair too soon?

Erm, Well i'm not actually from manchester, i'm currently at Chester Uni. And manchester is huge. I got them done in Afflecks Palace. She didnt use bands or wax. She backcombed it then she did like some wrapping of it. However she did put some sort of wax at the end of my hair. It looked so good when she had finished but they have gone downhill. Could it just be because i still havent washed it?
