uhhhh....... why be so excited over a greatest hits compilation?? you shouldnt have wasted your money. Its best to get one of the regular studio albums, not some ignorant best of compilation. Pink floyd's music is meant to be heard as an ablum, not as a collection of songs.

dude echoes is great, but the song echoes is cut to like 10 or 15 minutes???
thats the bullshit that will make todays youth think they're loving good music
and then they get the real album and listen to the songs how they're supposed to be played and get all pissed and bored.....

dude thats a drag aint it...

but if you like floyd get animalsl, my favorite album of all time....

Oh come on, Im biased against compilations as well, but "Echoes" is a kick ass compilation.

It has a good collection of their songs, and it's nice.

But I agree, compilations are only made to suck money from listeners.

You can find the whole Pink Floyd catalog at Amazon.com or any other good Internet music store, and at a great price too. With the $ 47 you dished out for Echoes, you could've bought probably 4 or even 5 Pink Floyd CDs, or even more if you bought them used. That's the way I buy all my music.

Personally, I think if a compilation inspires someone to listen to an album, sparks their intrest in hearing more because they have exposure to a whole plethora of the bands songs, than how can a compilation be a bad thing.

Yes Pink Floyd were an album band and not a singles band, but there is no denying that they did have songs that were singles and songs that fit the context of a single, and most of those are on Echoes.

You cant really expect someone to be an avid fan of something straight away, they need time to adjust and get used to it so they can become an avid fan, who has all the albums and knows every fart or cough on the tracks and who did them.

    Congrats on your purchase, enjoy:D
