I was cruis'n the internet and came across wiki's page on Generation Y. It said that Y started about 1979-1991. and that were also called the MTV generation or echo-boomers, WTF is echo-boomer? It aslo said that were some of the most depressed generation worst than the gen x. But I don't think so. I just think it''s more like a general sense of malaise, look it up if you don't know, that we've missed out on the last century and this one despite all the technology hasn't helped. For instance I listen to classic rock the majority of the time from 60's to 96. except for 80's hair metal. anyway, my point is that it seems there is nothing inspiring, no heroes to look up to, even the music is lacks the social consusness of modern america. Even generation X doesn't understand fully. It remindes me of what I heard about the 70's. they missed woodstock, summer of love, ect.. but even the 70's had there own heroes. My gen is just looking back at the past and saying damn that was a party. Although i's not that bad I see a very diff. future for us as adults. we'll get by bored as hell but we'll get by.

my guess would be that an "echo-boomer" is someone that is a child of a late 40's/50's baby boomer.

the "good ol' days" are always a matter of perspective. the grass is always greener and all that. and at least the gen xers had some positive vibes to absorb. the formative years of the y-kids was full of me generation parents, prozac and suicide rock.

they call us the echo-boomers because our generation was another baby boom. gen y is only slightly smaller then the babyboom generation, so they call us the echo-boomers, ,but gen y and millenials are more popular names. the best thing our generation has going is our diversity. were by far the most diverse, technology savy best educated good at multi-tasking lots of stuff. The good thing is out generation isnt like the babyboomers, and tehre is so many of us, that when we take over the workforce its impossible for it not to change. we will change things, just more from the inside out.
