Sometimes I like to chill on the beach with a bottle of wine and a bowl and just lay on a blanket and listen to music before the sun goes down... after a nice day of fishing or work or somerthing. (haha, I still drink on fishing piers, even though that is totally illegal here in VA)

orsino2, my town (wrightsville beach) is getting realllyy strict about the drinking on the beach. but then again, the cops are assholes here

 

If it was legal, there would be restrictions. No driving, age limit, etc. It's not like everyone would be running around stoned all the time.

 

any1 who wants to be stoned is allready, legalisation or decriminalisation wont change that fact

A few months ago the Supreme Court ruled on a MJ case. Two elderly women had been growing and smoking marijuana for medical reasons, none had been sold to anyone or transported off their premises. Nonetheless, the Supremes ruled that the interstate commerce clause of the constitution gave the feds power to make those activities illegal. Because of sentancing guidelines, these women are going to die in federal prison.
I wish marijuana was legal.

There wouldn't really be as much of a need for street dealers, anyway, because we could grow our own legally, and maybe even buy it in stores. Also, I think if people continue to deal after legalization, they'd probably charge less, because there wouldn't be any risk involved.

smokindude, you know how people enjoy going places and being stoned at their destinations? If marijuana were legal, more people would probably get to their destinations and then smoke at their destinations. Some people may drive and smoke because they think the chance to get caught will be lessened if they don't do it at their destination.

Driving and being stoned would still be highly discouraged in a society where cannabis would be legal. More people would probably get DUIs.

More people may smoke, however the smoking population could be better controlled. Children would not be able to get weed. When a child claims “It’s easier to get pot then alcohol,” one can conclude that carding will get in the way of completing a transaction.

smokindude, do you really prefer to going to jail for a little bit of pot? Due to jail overcrowding, one could be placed in a cell with a violent offender. That seems unnecessary to me.

I can agree with you, legalization will not work. Before you can do a 180o turn from illegality, you got to aim for decriminalization and especially the ending of the prosecution of medicinal cannabis users. When a old woman is jailed for fighting her arthritis, this sets of the red flags for a major problem. (Remember, while police power is being used to catch this peaceful ‘criminal’, a violent offender could be getting away.)

 

Nice post. I agree with all of it, mostly. The only part that I disagree with is when you say that kids won't be able to get weed as easily, because you'd still have independant growers and sellers. Also, like I said before, kids get adults to go get alcohol for them.......they'd do the same with weed.

Another point you brought up was the fact that jails are so overcrowded, which would also be helped if weed were legalized/decriminalized.

 

you dont even have to get adults to get you booze. Theres a carry out close to my house that sells to any kid and has told my friends to tell everyone they know. Also a bunch of my friends have fake ids. So it would be the exact same with weed.

i think that 99% of people who want to get high do so allready, the 1% is those too laze to find hookups or grow it themselves whether indoors or out. legalisation will only make it cheaper and better controlled ensuring quality. i was thinking about it being sold in like rolling tobacco packs, but with like purple kush on it or something, but that wud suck, so just coffeeshops and certain smoke caffees would be fine. smoking dude, u are like 5% of the smoking population, most people would love to have it legalised. also i would much rather have a stoned out of his head moron going 12mph down busy road then a pisshead zooming at 90. how long will the people become lazy for huh? once they realise they need to work to get money to do stuff which makes em enjoy theire lives more they will work again. and those who just bob about, not doing jack, well we have those ppl allready, theyre called bums, junkies and sometimes alcoholics - weed will just make these people realise to get a life. allthough i dont care eitherway, im gonna make sure i have my own quality herb for as long as i smoke now, allthough smoking in publiv, like say in a shopping mall would be awesome, and its not like drinking, because children wont see you bothering women and making a fool of yourself, just walking with a huge grin to the nearest kfc or w/e.
man like 6months ago i went to a swimming pool high, i blazed a joint just around the corner, put some eyedrops in and sprayed myself with deodorant, and when i got in and jumped in the pool, the sensation was unbelievable, most people are gonna die without ever feeling such a thing, so this tells me even if everyone starts smoking, what u reckon there wont be enough left for you, because the people who supply it would be happy to increase theire business . also this inspires me to take showers high, i love water naturally, back when my dad lived with us we used to go broghton and bournemouth almost every day of the summer, now i dont go there as much but i will one day with a bunch of friends, shitload of shrooms and weed. u see telling a person to not do something, which is theire choice and isnt really harming anything should be illegal, its just that the world is so screwed up today hardly any are wise enough to step out of theire metal couffins, take off the robot suit and ask themselves, why the fuck have i been working all my life, for a fucking house, for a fucking car? this aint it man, weed will help people do this, help them enjoy life, stop being like a program doing same shit everyday, only to die and lose something u worked ur whole life to achieve < fuck that.
