Weed banned for foreigners in amsterdam?

My friends keep telling me that they won't sell weed to foreigners in Amsterdam anymore, is this true????

That's what I have heard a few times. I don't know if it's true though. Either way, you'll be able to get it. It'll be like alcohol here.....get someone to go in and get it for you:spliff:

 

FUCK. I always wanted to go to amsterdam someday, to try how it's like to buy your hash from a shop and being able to smoke in public legally.

Some of my friends just got back, bollocks have they stopped selling weed to tourists. My friend did get strip searched at British Customs tho xD

Hey, think of it this way, weed is 'banned' for everyone in every country, but that doesn't seem to stop any of us does it? If you want it, you can get it.

Something like that would never get passed, someone's just making noise. Tourism, specifically drug tourism, is too much a part of their economy to ever make this a good idea.

I've been to Amsterdam lately... I had no problems getting what I needed.

 

Don't believe everything you read or hear. Find out for yourself! There is NO ban on selling cannabis to anyone, not in Amsterdam or any other place in The Netherlands, as long as you are at least 18 years old. There has been talk and threats of banning cannabis sales, to non-dutch people in Maastricht , near the German/Belgium border, but that's not gonna happen either. Come one. Come all. Come and enjoy a freedom filled time in Amsterdam! Peace.

Every couple of months some ass comes into an online forum and says this. Seeing as it's not actually legal or legalised at all over there it would be impossible to enforce as *technically* selling to anyone, regardless of nationality, is against the law. The police just have a 'look the other way' policy.

And most dutch people really hate that people only go for that reason...

It's a nice country, there are more places to see outside of Ams and there are loads of things to do other than smoke weed and act like another disrespectful english/american tourist (of which there are many)... Yeah, it's nice that you can get a smoke there but the novelty should wear off after a while unless you're that childish. It's just convenient to buy and you don't need to worry about legalities which is nice. Go have a tasty indonesian meal or watch a play/comedy or play chess on Max Euweplein or ride a bike around Haarlem or check one of the cities great museums (not the shitty tourist trap weed museum in the RLD lol) or go see a band, go to a squat bar and see an exhibition or some experimental music/theatre or just walk the streets for hours and get completely lost whilst taking in the sights. There's so much more to do in Amsterdam than just sit and smoke weed and it's sad when you see all these goofy kids just going there to sit in coffeeshops and get high, walk around the red light a couple of times and gawk open mouthed at the hookers and nothing else.

(Doesn't mean I'm not getting stupidly stoned out of my tree on my bi-yearly pilgrimage hehe )

But if you do go just remember to do other things than get high You're in their country so don't go just to abuse their leniency and tolerance

 

^^ very well said, when i go (whenever that may be) i already have plans that have nothing to do whith weed. the netherlands are beautiful, i cant wait to go hiking. i dont know why someone would go to another country just to smoke weed and sit on their asses in a coffeeshop, when they can go exploring around the whole city. if you wanna get high, fine i will too, but at least do something and dont waste your amsterdam high!

 

It hasn't happened yet, and it won't be happening anytime soon.
