Under cover of darkness People do prey And do things they wouldn't In the brightness of day People in groups Often act worse Gang mentality Could put you in a hearse Normally good people If they come into money They change, get weird And start to act funny They try to buy friendship And forget their morals They drive you away Or at least start quarrels All of a sudden They think they are better No longer just equals They want to be your debtor It's not just money or darkness That make people strange Or being in a group either But a societal change Put a group of people On an island with no food In a couple of days Notice the change in their mood Just watch how they change These usually people of caring No more Mr. nice guy No more feel for sharing Under such conditions There is so much stress When one finds a morsel It's "The hell with the rest" But people can change Also for the better Evidence of this occurs When one gets a love letter All of a sudden The world feels like Spring Not much can bother them Not a single rotten thing There's something new A skip in their step A lot less sluggishness They are full of pep Send a woman flowers or a man some cologne It brightens their day Acceptance has been shown So if you want to see people When they are acting their best Meet them in the day time And they'll pass the test People are people For better or worse Surroundings might change us At times it's a curse Deep down inside For the most part we're good Sometimes our emotions Make us misunderstood
