I start my new job in Prague next month. However, I have been invited to go to Brazil and it's really tempting because my best friend is going back to see his family and I will miss him a fuckload if I go back to the UK and he is not there. I cannot decide any ideas? Also, is there much need for EFL teachers in South America...mainly Brazil?
You say your best friend is (only) going to see his family? If he's not going to Brazil to live, then you'll end up alone in a foreign country.. Not wanting to delve into background I already know a little about, it sounds like he failed in his attempts to get full citizenship here.. You know.. I'm quite thrilled at the thought of English being tought by an ENGLISH person in Brazil.. With an English accent! I wish I had more to offer..
No, he's not failed his citizenship, he's just going for a holiday as he hasn't seen his mum for about 2 years. I wouldn't be alone out there either...I'd be staying with his family as they are like my 2nd family. I know what you mean about teaching British-English though....however, in South-America, I think they'd probably be more interested in learning American-English and I'm not prepared to patronise myself and put on an accent.
Go to Brazil for fuck sake!! Jobs come and go, chances of going to Brazil with a free tour guide don't!
