Has anyone read this book? I'm currently reading it, and I am within the last 100 pages, and I must say, that this book truly is a work of pure brilliance. For those who haven't read it, I strongly suggest it. For those who have, what're your opinions? Here's a nice review courtesy of Amazon.co.uk by Budge Burgess:
I read it, but I wasn't particularly impressed. It sounded like an interesting concept but the plot in the middle just dragged. Saying that, everybody else I know who has read it loved it, so maybe it's just me.
You are right about the middle. It does seem to drag needlessly, but I found it quite gripping, and the short chapters make it an easy, and pleasurable, read.
I read it and got inspired to play the dice game, the way you do. I had a list of 6 options including "chuck it all in and go to India" and "go to work as normal". Well, it came up with the latter. I did eventually get to India, but it took a few more years.
Not really - I just got to a stage in my life where I had the time, the money and the lack of commitments to go off travelling on my oddy knocky. Those things rarely come together all at once.
Dawww ! I was going to say something outrageously funny but then I realised the title was "The dice man" not "The Dick man"
Are you just following me round to troll me??? fuckin hell - get a life looooooooooossssa !!!!! stick to what you know about and post in the troll forum from now on eh????
