under certain circumstances I'm sure I could kill someone. I don't know if it would be even physically possible for me to rape someone.

 

I'm sorry.... as much as I think murder is often much worse then rape, I will never feel sorry for a rapist. I am happy about the datebases.

The only thing I'd change- fine, I'd throw in a murder datebase AND I'd take away statatory rape from the base. that's a bs charge pretty much.

I volunteer at my oldest son's elementary school. Before they even let me anywhere near a classroom, I had to be fingerprinted and had to have a background check run. We were told to discourage any type of physical contact with the children, but what am I going to do when they're coming up to me and hugging me, push them away? No. There's a major difference between innocent touching and not so innocent.

Speaking of...did any of you hear about the talk of the state lawmakers considering a bill requiring sex offenders to sport certain colored license plates? I just read something about that last night.

 

I heard a debate on the license plate thing years ago. And what I think about it? I don't know... I think there are varying degrees. Overall I think it's good BUT I am not an uncaring, unforgiving bitch... if there is sick person who did something and went through 5, 10, 20 years counseling, finally dealt with their issues of being abused themselves and made the steps to change, I think they deserve a fresh start and not be branded.

I also believe parents and children should have warning and be protected. It's a tough subject.

And that's horrible they made you guys get fingerprinted and discouraged hugging and such. My mom is a teachers aid though in an elementary school though and told me similar stories- though not quite as drasatic. And I'm sure it's even worse for men.

With my neighbors and all I love kids... when the kids come up TO ME... I wanna be able to take care of them, bring them inside or whatever but society does put fear on you. It's actually kinda sad.

Yeah, it's kind of difficult to say, it's like, okay, they already have a database for that, and what if the spouse/significant other, or 16 year old child is driving the car, think of what kind of reactions they would get from the public. I don't know. I mean, there's always a first time for everything, meaning, just because someone doesn't have a special colored plate on their car doesn't mean they can't be a predator, or, doesn't mean they've never done something but never been caught. Know what I mean?

Yeah, it's really sad how you have to be with kids, I mean heck, people get bent out of shape if you have normal baby pictures, you know the ones where their little butts are showing, or they're in the tub? Like that's child pornography? I mean come on!
